An optical disc device that does this has been developed. In this case, if dust adheres to the optical system that records and reproduces information, the optical characteristics will be affected depending on the degree of dust, and the recording and reproduction capabilities will deteriorate, causing problems with the stability of the device's operation. Measures against dust in the system are essential.

Further, since no special mechanism is provided in the main body of the device, there is no problem in making the device thinner and more compact, and it does not lead to higher costs. Furthermore, since the case can be cleaned simply by mounting it inside the main body of the apparatus, even a general user can easily handle it.

The rotating body 14 is rotated in accordance with the rotation of the rotating body 5. Meanwhile, at the same time, the objective lens 18 is moved up and down emphatically by the operation of a focus adjustment actuator (not shown). The rotation of the rotating body 14 is controlled by the cleaning member 16 via the belt 19.
is transmitted to the support portion 16c of the cleaning member 16.
is rotated around the protrusion shaft portion 16a, and as the cleaning portion 16d is rotated, the cleaning portion 16d comes into sliding contact with the objective lens 18 which is moving up and down, and dust attached to the objective lens 18 is removed.

Unlike the conventional example shown in FIG. 1, no strong force is applied to the objective lens 18 from the lateral direction, and there is no risk of damaging the optical system. Further, unlike the conventional example shown in FIG. 4, there is no special mechanism provided in the main body of the device, so there is no problem in making the device thinner and more compact, and it does not lead to higher costs. In addition, since the case IO can be cleaned simply by installing it into the main body of the device, it can be easily handled by a general user and does not require the assistance of a service person. For example, if a new cleaning unit containing alcohol or the like is always prepared, strong dirt adhering to the objective lens 18 can be easily removed.
