Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily input a plane image by means of a video camera by removing the distortion of an image on a plane independently of the positional relation of the image at the time of inputting the image on the plane by the video camera. CONSTITUTION:A word processor 1 having an image input function includes a CPU 2, a ROM 3, a RAM 4, a storage part 5, a display part 6, a keyboard input part 7, a video camera 8, a video signal input part 9, an image data output part 10, and a system bus 11. At the time of inputting image data on a certain plane by the video camera 8, the inputted image on the distorted plane is converted into a video signal, the video signal is numerized to obtain image data projected to another plane by numerical operation. When a plane to be converted is properly selected, a correct image can be obtained independently of the positional relation between the camera 8 and the plane including the image. Consequently, a plane image can easily be inputted by the video camera.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In the present invention, after converting the input and distorted image on a plane into numerical values as video signals, numerical calculations are performed to obtain image data projected onto another plane. By appropriately selecting the plane to be converted, a correct image could be obtained regardless of the positional relationship between the camera and the plane on which the image exists. Furthermore, in the present invention, as means for detecting the positional relationship between the camera and the input image, by arranging the image within a known fixed figure,
By investigating how this fixed figure is distorted.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the operation of the image input function which is an embodiment of the present invention, and will be explained below using this figure. The image to be input is drawn inside a rectangular frame, which is a fixed figure whose shape is known in advance. A video signal obtained by photographing a space including this figure and an image to be input is inputted using the video camera 8 and the video signal input section 9 (step Sl). The input video signal is converted into numerical data by the discrete value converter and stored in the storage unit 5 (step S
2, S3). The fixed frame extraction program recognizes the fixed shape that has been transformed by calculation from this digitized image data, and when this fixed frame is converted to another plane, it uses the conversion parameters that will make the shape on the original plane. is found and a conversion equivalent to this is performed on the image drawn inside the frame (steps 34 to S6). This allows an image without distortion to be output (step S7).

[Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, when an image on a plane is inputted by a video camera, distortion can be removed regardless of the positional relationship. This has made it easier to input planar images using a video camera.
