し適切な温度に昇温する昇温炉の底部近傍でこの
昇温炉内の溶湯と接触して成る底部電極と、前記
昇温炉の内壁に垂直方向に所定の間隔をおいて配
置され各位置でこの昇温炉内の溶湯と接触し得る
ようにして成る複数の湯面レベル検出電極と、前
記昇温炉外に配置され前記湯面レベル検出電極の
各々と電気的に接続された検知器と、一方の極が
前記検知器と接続され他方の極が前記底部電極と
接続された電源とより成り、前記底部電極と各々
の前記湯面レベル検出電極との通電により前記各
々の湯面レベル検出電極に対応する湯面レベルを
検出するようにしたことを特徴とする昇温炉の湯
