It has been widely practiced since ancient times. In this treatment, it is desirable that the alkaline aqueous solution uniformly permeate into the interior of the fiber within a short period of time. Therefore, conventional methods have been adopted in which a small amount of a penetration enhancer, ie, a mercerizing agent, is added to the alkaline aqueous solution treatment bath to promote the penetration of the alkaline aqueous solution into the fibers. This mercerizing agent generally consists mainly of an anionic surfactant, and various commercially available products are commercially available and are in practical use.

点もあった。However, in the case of conventional products, although a certain degree of penetration promotion effect can be obtained, it is still not sufficient, and there is still room for further improvement. In addition, conventional products exhibit a relatively excellent penetration effect immediately after the treatment liquid is prepared, but there is also a problem in that the effect deteriorates significantly as the treatment time progresses.

It is twice the weight. If this amount is too small, the permeation rate of the aqueous alkali solution into the cellulose-containing fibers cannot be sufficiently improved, and if it is too large, the effect remains the same, which is not economical.

As a method for mercerization, a usual method of immersing cellulose-containing fibers in a strong alkaline aqueous solution can be adopted. Examples of the strong alkaline aqueous solution in this case include an aqueous solution of caustic soda or caustic potash, and the concentration thereof is usually 1.20 to 30% by weight. The amount of the mercerizing agent added to the strong alkaline aqueous solution is usually such that the amount of the anionic surfactant present is 0.09 to 0,S by weight, and the amount of the aliphatic alcohol having a carbon number of S to 1 is The amount of propylene oxide adduct is 0.00/-0.2
It is adjusted to % by weight, preferably 0.0/-0.1% by weight. In short, when the content of the anionic surfactant and propylene oxide adduct of aliphatic alcohol in the treatment bath consisting of a strong alkali aqueous solution and a mercerizing agent is within the above range, the strong alkali aqueous solution penetrates into the inside of the cellulose-containing fiber. The speed is particularly good. The immersion temperature is about 3 to 30°C, and the immersion time is usually about 30 to 90 seconds. Since cellulose-containing fibers shrink when they come into contact with a strong alkaline aqueous solution, the cellulose-containing fibers are usually soaked while being fixed to prevent them from shrinking, or after the contact treatment, the fibers are squeezed with a mangle and expanded. A method of stretching is adopted.
