Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the management for racks and to reduce a warehousing and delivery time by ranking racks according to the crane operating time for warehousing, ranking goods according to the warehousing and delivery frequency, and making both to correspond to each other so as to allocate racks in an automatic warehouse using an automatic stacker crane. CONSTITUTION:Data for managing racks according to the order of crane operating time on every rack rank corresponding to the crane operating time is stored in a means 1 for making the crane operating time to correspond to the rack. Goods rank data calculated by the relationship between the warehousing and delivery frequency by the unit of goods and the number of racks on every rack rank is stored in a means 2 for managing the delivery frequency. A means 3 for giving correspondence to the means 1, 2 is adapted to allocate racks by making the data of both means 1, 2 correspond to each other. By this arrangement, the warehousing and delivery operating time can be reduced, and the management for racks can be improved.

With the conventional allocation method, there is generally no problem with stocking empty shelves. However, when stocking the shelves, if the shelves are stocked in the order of empty shelves, as a result, the shelves cannot be managed in accordance with the frequency of stocking and retrieval, and moreover, there is a disadvantage that ineffective stocking and retrieval time is wasted.
