It's just a matter of making an effort. Therefore, in order to perform so-called lateral stirring in which the developer is stirred in a direction parallel to the developing sleeve in order to make the toner concentration uniform, the above-mentioned cross mixing mechanism or the like is separately provided.

The developer D in the developer casing 7 is passed through the developer sleeve 2 brought into contact with the latent image on the photoreceptor 1 and the hopper-shaped developer reservoir 5 formed in the developer casing 7 by a guide member 8. The developing sleeve 2
The developer is provided with a paddle 4 for conveying and stirring the developer. Note that the developer casing 7 is provided with a toner supply member 6, and the developer sleeve 2 has a plurality of magnets 3 built therein. Further, the guide member 8 also serves as a separator for scraping off the spent developer on the developing sleeve 2.

It scoops up the developer and sends it to the developer storage section 5, and also transports the developer in one direction along the rotational axis direction of the rotary pipe 42. Further, the rotating pipe 42 is moved by the arrow A by the transport stirring blade 41.
It has an inlet 43 for the developer on the side near the arrival end of the developer sent in the axial direction, as shown in FIG.
The other side has an outlet 44 for the developer.

ることができる。 In the developing device configured as described above, when the paddle 4 rotates counterclockwise as shown in FIG. 1, the blades 41 scoop up the developer D and convey it to the storage section 5. The developer that has reached the reservoir 5 passes over the guide member 8 and falls onto the developing sleeve 2, which rotates counterclockwise, and comes into contact with the photoreceptor 1 as a magnetic brush. On the other hand, the developer that has not been conveyed by the blades 41 is transferred in the horizontal direction parallel to the rotary pipe 42, as indicated by arrow A in FIG. It is sent in like an arrow. The developer that has entered the rotating pipe 42 in this way is
The outlet 44 is
It is pushed out from there and transported again in the direction of arrow A. Therefore, by rotating the paddle 4,
The developer is scooped up and horizontally stirred simultaneously and automatically. Of course, vertical stirring is also performed at this time. Therefore, there is no need to separately provide a horizontal stirring device, and the developing device can have a simple and compact structure.

Since it is removed, there is an advantage that the developer comes out more easily.

A dry developing device with a similar structure can be obtained.

As a result, the developer conveyance by the paddle can be intermittent, and therefore low rotation speed or a small number of blades is required, and there is no need to put extra stress on the developer, which reduces developer fatigue. It is advantageous against
