This article relates to a method for manufacturing a handle for a Western bow made of FRP (abbreviated as FRP).

Conventionally, when molding the handle of this type of Western bow, especially an assembly-type Western bow in which the handle and rim can be freely separated, a core made of foamed synthetic resin or the like is molded into a core shape that is almost similar to the shape of the handle. Attach raw material for FRP molding (refers to reinforcing fibers impregnated with uncured liquid synthetic resin for matrix and semi-cured as necessary) around the component,
The handle molding material is inserted into a mold, clamped, and hot-press molded.

However, in the case of the above-mentioned conventional forming means, the surface of the core component material, especially the front and rear surfaces corresponding to the target side and the string side, is formed by forming side windows in the vertical direction (vertical direction). When attaching raw material for FRP molding to a surface that is partially bent in the horizontal direction,
The handle body 1 is made by cutting out a single layer of reinforcing fiber such as cloth along the surface shape of the handle and laminating it into multiple layers, as illustrated in FIG.
The longitudinal fibers a of the FRP attached to the front and rear surfaces of the side window portion 2 forming portion become discontinuous, thereby providing the handle with a strength that requires a bending strength of approximately 5.0 kg/mm 2 or more. Therefore, the overall weight of the handle increases, as the bending strength must be compromised by increasing the wall thickness.
There were problems such as poor stability and operability.

In addition, in view of the drawbacks of such conventional forming means, even if one attempts to bend the reinforcing fibers of a roving sheet or cloth as they are along the surface shape of the handle, the reinforcing fibers do not follow the surface shape of the handle; Furthermore, it was impossible to attach multiple layers.

This invention was made under the above circumstances, and is for use in western bows, in which the longitudinal fiber arrangement of the reinforcing fibers can be continuous even in the curved portion of the handle surface, and can be attached in multiple layers. The purpose of this invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a handle.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a rod-shaped material by winding a single layer or multiple layers of reinforcing fibers made of a strip material such as a roving sheet, cloth, or roving cloth impregnated with an uncured liquid synthetic resin for matrix. A process of forming a core member bent into the shape of a handle, bending and attaching a plurality of rods in parallel along at least the surfaces corresponding to the target side and the string side, and arranging these rods in parallel. A step of forming a handle molding material by overlaying a cloth or unidirectional fiber sheet on one or both sides, and a step of inserting the handle molding material into a mold, clamping the mold, and hot pressing. This is characterized by the fact that it has a structure in which the FRP fibers in the vertical direction of the handle are continuous.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show a first step for manufacturing a bow handle according to the present invention, in which a single layer or multiple layers of reinforcing fibers 11 made of a strip material such as a roving sheet, cloth, or roving cloth are shown. is wound to form a flat and narrow rod-shaped material 12. In this case, the rod-like material 12 may be impregnated with the uncured liquid synthetic resin for matrix either before or after the reinforcing fibers 11 are wound.

Next, the rod-shaped material 1 impregnated with the uncured liquid synthetic resin for the matrix formed in the first step described above.
2, as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. In the example, only the front and rear surfaces of the target side and string side are shown), and multiple pieces are attached in parallel in the width direction of the handle while being bent along the front and rear surfaces. At this time, if the cloths 14, 14 or unidirectional fiber sheets are superimposed on one side or both sides (both sides in the illustrated embodiment) of the parallel surfaces of each of the rods 12 to form a sandwich-like structure, each This is preferable since it is possible to prevent the adjacent rod-shaped members 12 from coming off or peeling off.

The handle molding material 15 molded in the second step is inserted into a mold 16 as shown in FIG. 5, and the mold is clamped and hot-press molded. In this third step, if a gel coat (not shown) is applied to the inner surface of the mold 16, a gel coat layer is suitably formed on the surface of the handle molded product after the mold is released.

The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiments, and it is also possible to apply the present invention to some layers of the reinforcing fiber layer, especially to the side window forming part, in parallel with the conventional method, and also to the part where the side window is formed. The present invention can be applied to both the front and rear surfaces of the target side and the string side as well as the left and right surfaces thereof. Further, although the core component is formed of a foamed synthetic resin, an expandable hollow member may be used, and after being inserted into the molding, the core member may be expanded by feeding a high-pressure fluid.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a rod shape is formed by winding a single layer or multiple layers of reinforcing fibers made of a strip material such as a roving sheet, cloth, or roving cloth impregnated with an uncured liquid synthetic resin for matrix. A plurality of bars are bent and attached in parallel along at least the surfaces corresponding to the target side and the string side of the core component material bent into the shape of a handle, and a cross is attached to one or both of the parallel surfaces of these bar-shaped materials. Alternatively, a handle molding material can be molded by overlapping unidirectional fiber sheets, and the handle molding material is inserted into a mold, clamped, and heated to form a handle. Since the reinforcing fibers can easily follow the curved surface of the core component, the reinforcing fibers can be arranged continuously in the vertical direction of the handle. Because it is possible to partially concentrate reinforcement on specific surfaces corresponding to the target side and string side, such as the handle of the play.
