Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the processing to occurrence of error by assigning the priority to data transfer equipments connected in cascade, masking an error report from a subsequent data transfer equipment from a data transfer equipment having a data error and sending sequentially only a report of an error of the data error transfer device to a host equipment. CONSTITUTION:Suppose that a data error takes place in a data transfer equipment(DTRE) 3, an error detection section(ERD) 100 of the DTRE 3 detects an error and outputs the result of detection to a selection section(SEL) 102. The SEL 102 masks an error report when an error report detection section(RPD) 101 detects the error report from a subsequent DTRE, selects the result of detection from the ERD 100 and reports the occurrence of an error to a host DTRE (in this case, DTRE 2) via an error report line 32. Thus, the processing to the error is simplified.

The data transfer method of the present invention is a data transfer method in which data is transferred using a plurality of cascaded data transfer devices. a second error detection means for detecting an error report of the first . A special embodiment characterized in that it has a selection means for selecting the result of the second error detection means and a reporting means for reporting the output of the selection means to a host device. Next, the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. I will explain.

Here, if a data error occurs in the DTRE3, the ERD 100 in the DTRE3 detects the error and outputs the detection result to the 5EL102. 5EL102
Even if the RPD 101 detects an error report from the lower DTRE, it masks this, selects the detection result of ERDloo, and transmits the error report from the REP 103 to the upper DTRE (here, DTRE2) via the error report line 32.

As explained above, the present invention assigns priorities to data transfer devices that are cascaded, masks error reports from data transfer devices lower than the data transfer device in which a data error has occurred, and only reports errors from the data error generating device. By sequentially sending the reports to the host device, processing for error occurrences is simplified, and there is an effect that the occurrence of secondary errors does not need to be detected.
