Abstract

PURPOSE:To set an ink ribbon easily without making hands dirty by manipulating each elastic ribbon support member which is elastically engaged with each cassette arm portion thereby to move from the position to guide the ink ribbon to the position of the ribbon cassette. CONSTITUTION:An elastic ribbon holding member 3 is formed by an elastic plate and positioned at a position (1) where it is engaged with cassette arm portions 4, 5 except when an ink ribbon is set. When the ink ribbon is set, each elastic ribbon holding member 3 is moved to the vicinity of a printing part 7. In this case, first, each elastic ribbon holding member 3 is moved upwards and detached from the cassette arm portions 4, 5. Thereafter, ends 3a, 3b of each elastic ribbon holding member 3 are pressed by hands, so that the holing member 3 in moved. If the ends 3a, 3b are released from the pressuring force of the hands after the elastic ribbon holding member 3 is moved, clamp portions 3c, 3d of the elastic ribbon holding member 3 are elastically engaged with an ink ribbon 2, thereby clamping the ink ribbon. Accordingly, the ribbon can be set to the printing part 7 easily by holding the elastic ribbon holding members 3 by hands without making the hands dirty.

The elastic ribbon holding member 3 is formed by molding an elastic plate into the shape shown in FIG. This elastic ribbon holding member 3 is positioned at the position (3) where it engages with the cassette arms 4 and 5, as shown by the solid line in FIG. 2, except when the ribbon is inserted. FIG. 4(a) shows an example of the holding state of the cassette arm 5 in this state (cross-sectional view taken along the line A-A in FIG. 2(a)). The cassette arm 5 is elastically engaged with the cassette arm 5 and is movable in the direction in which the cassette arm 5 protrudes (in the direction perpendicular to the paper plane of FIG. 4).

When setting the ribbon, move each elastic ribbon holding member 3 to the position indicated by the chain line in FIG.
, ). In this case, first move each elastic ribbon holding member 3 upward in FIG. 2(a) to separate it from each cassette arm 4, 5, and then move it as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 2(a). During these movements, the ends 3a and 3b of each elastic ribbon holding member 3 are pressed and moved by hand in the direction shown by the arrow in FIG. 4(a). It's easy. Then, each elastic ribbon holding member 3
When the end portions 3a and 3b are released from the position indicated by the chain line, the clamp portions 3c and 3d of each elastic ribbon holding member 3 move to the position indicated by the chain line, and the clamp portions 3c and 3d of each elastic ribbon holding member 3 move to the position indicated by the chain line.
to be elastically engaged and clamped. Therefore, in this state, each elastic ribbon holding member 3 can be held in the hand to easily set the ribbon in the printing section 7 without getting the hands dirty. In other words, the centripetality of the ribbon is improved. FIG. 5 shows a state in which the ink ribbon 3 is set in the printing section 7 in this manner.
