Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the knee space of a passenger or the like sitting down on the rear side of a seat back, to be widen by providing the back surface of a pad, with a recessed section formed to be recessed on the side of a frame, and by bonding the pad and a cover to each other integrally. CONSTITUTION:On the back surface of a pad 15, a recessed section 22 formed to be recessed on the side of a frame 17 is set, and is contrived to be formed to avoid interference with a section close to the knees F of a passenger sitting down on a rear seat, as much as possible. A cover 16 is a woven cloth piece sewn in the shape of a bag, and consists of a front surface cover 16a for covering the front surface side of the pad 15, a side surface cover 16b for covering both side surfaces, and a back surface cover 16c for covering a back surface. Then, the pad 15 and the front surface cover 16a, and the pad 15 and the back surface cover 16c are respectively bonded to each other to be integrated with each other by using a hot melt adhesive-sheet 25.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a seat back used for, for example, a seat for a vehicle such as an automobile or a backrest for a cushion of furniture such as a chair, and a method for manufacturing the same.

[Prior Art] A seat back 1 of a conventional automobile front seat shown in FIG. 4 has a pad 2 made of foamed resin such as urethane.
The pad 2 includes a cover 3 that covers the pad 2, a frame 4 placed inside the pad 2, and the like. When the back surface of the seat back 1 is covered with the cover 3 as in this conventional example, the back surface cover 3a is often suspended at the A section.

[Issue 8 to be Solved by the Invention] In the case of the above conventional example, a relatively large dead space 5 occurs between the back cover 3a and the frame 4 (or spring). For this reason, when the seatback 1 is slid backwards as shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure, the back cover 3a tends to come into contact with the kneecaps F of the occupant sitting in the rear seat, creating a so-called knee space. It gets narrower. Therefore, it has been considered to reduce the dead space 5 as much as possible by pulling the back cover 3a toward the frame 4 and suspending it. However, in this case, it takes time and effort to put the cover 3 on, and moreover, the number of parts required for hanging increases, and the appearance deteriorates.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a seat back in which a cover and a pad on the back of the seat back are integrally molded, the seat back has a good appearance, and a large knee space can be secured for the occupant sitting in the rear seat. It is in.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The seat back of the present invention developed to achieve the above object includes a pad, a cover that covers the pad, and a frame inserted into the pad. A recessed portion recessed toward the frame is provided on the back surface of the pad, and the pad and cover are integrally bonded to each other.

The method of the present invention involves manufacturing a pad whose back surface is recessed toward the frame, and a bag-shaped cover that covers the front, side, and back surfaces of the pad, and covering the pad with the cover and at least covering the pad. A hot-melt adhesive sheet is interposed between the back surface and the cover, and at least the back surface of the pad and the back cover are bonded together by melting this adhesive sheet with steam or dry heat. .

[Function] The seat back of the present invention can provide a wider knee space for an occupant seated in the rear seat due to the concave portion of the pad back surface. Since the back cover and the pad back are integrated with each other by adhesive, the dead space between the pad and the cover can be reduced as much as possible even if there is a recess in the pad back. No hanging parts are required and the appearance is good.

The frame 17 is formed in a curved shape such that its vertical middle portion protrudes toward the front, and a spring member such as a spring assembly is assembled as necessary. Although the frame 17 may be inserted into the pad 15 after the pad 15 is molded, workability will be improved if the frame 17 and the pad 15 are integrally molded.

The pad 15 is molded into the predetermined shape described above by a well-known urethane foam molding method. A bag-like cover 16 covering the front, side and back surfaces of the pad 15 is made by sewing. This cover 16 is placed over the pad 15, and the hot melt type adhesive seed 25 described above is provided between the pad 15 and the cover 16. The adhesive sheet 25 is in the form of a film or non-woven fabric, and may be simply inserted into a predetermined position inside the cover 16.
If the adhesive sheet 25 is laminated in advance on either the outer surface of the pad 15 or the inner surface of the cover 16, the adhesive sheet 25 will not be displaced or torn, and work efficiency will be improved. This adhesive sheet 25 has a property that it melts when it comes into contact with high-temperature dry heat or water vapor, hardens when cooled, and exhibits its original adhesive strength. If the unopened end portion 16d of the cover 16 is fixed with a locking tool such as a hog ring, the position of the cover 16 can be easily determined and work efficiency can be improved.

The pad 15 with the cover 16 and the adhesive sheet 25 set in a predetermined position through the above steps is pressed in the thickness direction by the mold 31.32 as shown in FIG. 33 into the cover 16. The high temperature steam 33 is applied to the hot melt adhesive sheet 2

The water vapor introduced into each chamber 35, 36 from the vapor inlet 41, 42 is blown into the cover 16 through the vapor blow-off hole, and when it touches the adhesive sheet 25, the adhesive sheet 25 is melted. Note that before blowing in steam, the inside of the chamber 35.36 is evacuated through the suction port 37.38, and the mold 31.
By adsorbing the cover 16 to 32, the cover-1
6 may be kept in a predetermined shape. In this case, steam is supplied into the chamber 35.36 after the reduced pressure in the chamber 35.36 is released.

By going through the above steps, the pad 15 and the cover 16 are bonded to each other via the adhesive sheet 25 that has been cured after being melted. Thereafter, by reducing the pressure inside the chamber 35, 36 through the suction ports 37 and 38, the cover 16 is removed.
Water droplets adhering to the pad 15 are removed. Thereafter, the press by the molds 31 and 32 is released. Note that if a film (without holes) is used as the adhesive sheet 25, it becomes possible not only to press the molds 31 and 32, but also to vacuum form the cover 16 before adhering, thereby making it possible to form a pattern.

It should be noted that it is better to perform the pressing and bonding process using the molds 31 and 32 simultaneously from both the front and back surfaces as in the above embodiment, but in some cases, the pressing and bonding process described above may be performed on one side at a time. good.

The seat back 13 with an integrated skin obtained by the above manufacturing process has a cover 16 that is firmly integrated with the pad 15, so it does not wrinkle even after repeated use, and is highly durable and has a good design. is also excellent. A recess 22 is formed on the back side of the seat back 13, and the knee space for the rear seat occupant is increased by the provision of the recess 22. In addition, when bonding only the back cover 16c, the adhesive sheet 25 may be placed only between the pad 15 and the back cover 16c. In short, the adhesive sheet 25 is placed in the area where adhesion is required. In addition, the present invention applies not only to the front seats but also to the rear seats.
