Conventionally, sheet-like adsorption mats, oil dispersants, etc. have been used as methods for treating oil in the event of an oil spill. However, although sheet-type oil-absorbing mats are convenient to some extent when used in emergencies, they are time-consuming to collect after absorbing oil, and the biggest drawback is that they cannot be used for long periods of time. Ta. Therefore, oil-absorbing mats cannot be used in a so-called preventive manner to prevent oil spills. Moreover, oil dispersants are undesirable because they may cause secondary pollution after use.

In the present invention, as a result of various studies to solve these conventional drawbacks, an oil adsorption (absorption) material that can be placed in water for a particularly long period of time has been completed.

FIG. 1 shows a sectional view taken along the line AA' of the reticulated oil adsorbent according to the present invention shown in FIG. 1 is a rope-like object,
2 is a floating body layer, 3 is an oil adsorption layer, and 4 is a surface protection layer. As is clear from FIG. 1, in the present invention, first, a floating layer 2 is provided to cover the surface of a rope-like object 1. The floating body layer 2 may be formed by wrapping a sheet-like or mesh-like foamable synthetic resin body around the rope-like object 1 in one or multiple layers, or by wrapping a hollow cylinder made of foamable synthetic resin or cork around the rope-like object 1, for example. The lobe-like object 1 can be inserted into the rope-like material 1 before being knitted to form a net-like object, or the lobe-like object 1 can be clamped by the halves of the hollow cylinder. The lobe-shaped object 1 provided with the floating body layer 2 in this manner is further provided with an oil adsorption layer 3 thereon. Materials for the oil adsorption layer 3 include synthetic fibers such as polyolefin fibers, chemical fibers such as rayon, natural fibers, cotton-like natural fibers such as waste paper pulp, rag pulp, and valve lees, nonwoven fabrics, and oil-absorbing materials. Ore [oil dry (manufactured by Union Carbide), perlite (manufactured by Mitsui Mining)],
Examples include plastic spongy foam and the like. An oil adsorption layer can be formed by using one or more of these oil adsorption materials. Further, by further treating these oil adsorption layers 3 with a surfactant, the adsorption (absorption) of oil can be further improved.

The oil adsorbent in which a floating body layer 2 and an oil adsorption layer 3 are provided on a lobe-shaped object 1 may further be provided with a surface protection layer 4 to cover the oil adsorption layer, if necessary. Examples of materials used for the surface protective layer 4 include plastic nets, rubber sheets with a large number of holes, and non-porous rubber sheets. By providing the surface protective layer 4 using these materials, the shape retention of the oil adsorbent can be maintained and the oil adsorption (absorption) speed can be adjusted.

Oils discharged from ships can be adsorbed (absorbed) by spreading the oil adsorbent of the present invention in the ocean near oil refineries where oil can spill, various fish farms, sea lanes, etc. be able to. Since the oil adsorbent of the present invention has the floating body layer 2, it can float on the water surface for a long period of time.
