Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disk device which can position a magnetic head in a stable state by making a collar or a vibration proof rubber to be an oval shape. CONSTITUTION:An oval hole is made in the circular vibration proof rubber 3 and the collar 4 whose shape is oval is mounted on the vibration proof rubber 3. The spring constants of the vibration proof rubber 3 in the directions of X and Y can be adjusted by the compression of the collar 4, and only the spring constant in either of the direction of X or Y can be changed. Since only the spring constant in the specified direction can freely be set, the rolling of a disk enclosure in the specified direction can be controlled. Thus, the magnetic head can be positioned in the stable state.
