Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately position a data head and to prevent the occurrence of an error in reading out caused by the deviation of a data write position by shifting and disposing a servo head and a data head which are oppositely disposed through a disk medium so that the positions in a circumferential direction may not be overlapped with each other. CONSTITUTION:As to the disk medium 1, servo information is written on the surface facing the servo head 2 so as to be used as a servo surface, and the surface facing the data head 3 is used for writing and reading out the data as a data surface. The servo head 2 and the data head 3 are shifted and disposed so that the positions in the circumferential direction may not be overlapped, the information on the servo surface is read out by the servo head 2 and then, the data head 3 is positioned, and also even though a magnetic flux generated in the data head 3 passes through the medium 1 at the time of writing the data, the magnetic flux does not reach the servo head 2 since the position of the servo head 2 is shifted, so that the read-out information from the servo surface is not disturbed and then, the occurrence of the error in reading out caused by the deviation of the data write position can be prevented.

を行った際に、データヘッドに生じた磁束が媒体を貫通
してサーボヘッドに達してしまい、サーボ面から読出さ
れるサーボ情報にノイズとして重畳して乱してしまうた
めに、゛データヘッドの位置決めが動いてしまい、デー
タの書込み位置がずれて書込まれる。そして読出し時に
は、正しい位置にデータヘッドが位置決めされるために
、読出しの誤りが生ずるという重大な欠点を有している

ィスク媒体を介して対向して配置されるサーボヘッドお
よびデータヘッドを円周方向の位置が重ならないように
ずらして配置することにより、サーボヘッドによりサー
ボ面の情報を読出してデータヘッドの位置決めを行うと
ともにデータの書込みを行った際に、データヘッドに生
じた磁束が媒体を貫通しても、サーボヘッドの位置がず
れているために、磁束がサーボヘッドまで到達せず、サ
ーボ面からの読出し情報が乱されなくなり、データヘッ
ドの位置決めが動かずに正しい位置にデータを書込むこ
とができ、データの書込み位置のずれによる読出しの誤
りを防ぐことができるので、磁気ディスク装置の信頼性
が向上するという効果を有している。
