Claims

[Claim for Utility Model Registration] A cassette housing that holds a cassette containing a magnetic recording medium, a link that moves the cassette housing in a direction substantially perpendicular to the main surface of the cassette, and a side plate that attaches this link to the main body of the device. In the cassette loading/unloading mechanism of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, the mechanism further includes a lever that slides substantially parallel to a main surface of the cassette to switch the operation mode of magnetic recording/reproducing, the lever and the lever being attached to the cassette housing. A driven member is provided which abuts and moves approximately perpendicularly to the main surface of the cassette according to the position of the lever, and when the operation mode is in a stopped state, the cassette bottom surface and the cassette mounting surface of the cassette housing are brought into contact with each other. A cassette loading/unloading mechanism for a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, characterized in that, in a cassette tape drive operating state, the cassette housing is pressed in a direction that creates a clearance between the cassette mounting surface and the cassette bottom surface.
