Abstract

PURPOSE:To readily correct an original sheet in a short time by placing a reversible heat-sensitive sheet which shifts to a transparent state from a cloudy state and vice versa on the original sheet and switching a part that is not to be copied to an opaque, cloudy state by a heating head. CONSTITUTION:The reversible heat-sensitive sheet 2 which shifts to a transparent state from a cloudy state and vice versa is placed on the original sheet 1, and the heating head 4 switches the part not to be copied to an opaque, cloudy state from a transparent state. The reversible heat-sensitive recording material is known as thermochromic material which selectively realizes a transparent or cloudy state at a room temperature due to the difference between heating temperatures, and which is composed of a matrix material made of thermoplastic resin and an organic low- polymer substance dispersed in the matrix material. Consequently, the original contents can be corrected in a short time instead of altering the original itself, without waste and trouble.

Conventionally, to correct manuscript paper, you attach opaque blank paper or a white frame to the parts that do not need to be copied, or erase them with white correction fluid. The work is troublesome because the numbers are not consistent, and in the latter case, if the original is erased with correction fluid, the unrevised original cannot be left behind, so the unrevised original is copied and left and then the revised version is removed. I am creating a manuscript, but it is difficult to write on top of the correction fluid, and in both cases it is laborious, time consuming, and wasteful.

Such a reversible thermosensitive recording material has characteristics as shown in FIG. That is, it exhibits special properties at a first temperature tl higher than the room temperature L0 + a second temperature t2 higher than the room temperature t0. For example, a reversible thermosensitive recording material that is initially cloudy at room temperature t0 is heated to a first temperature t0.
1 and then room temperature L. When cooled to 100%, an extremely transparent state can be obtained. The reversible thermosensitive recording material, which is in a transparent state at room temperature t0, becomes cloudy when it is heated to a second temperature t2 higher than the first temperature t1 and then cooled to room temperature /Mto.

In FIG. 4, the solid line represents the case where the reversible thermosensitive recording material, which is initially in a cloudy state, is heated to the first temperature t1 and returned to room temperature L0 to become transparent, and the dotted line represents the reversible thermosensitive recording material, which is initially in the transparent state. The material is heated to a second temperature t2 and placed in the chamber.
The results show the case where the temperature was returned to o and a cloudy state was obtained.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2(a), place the transparent heat-sensitive sheet 2 on the original cover 1, and turn the temperature setting switch to the temperature (second temperature) that changes the transparent state of the heat-sensitive sheet to the cloudy state. When the heating head 4 of the pen-shaped heating member 3 set at 6 is brought into contact with the portion of the document paper that requires deletion or correction from above the thermal sheet 2, the portion of the document paper that requires deletion or correction is removed as shown in FIG. 2(b). The portions 2a, 2a, . . . of the thermal sheet 2 corresponding to the portions 1a, la, . . . of the paper become cloudy. Due to the cloudy state of the thermal sheet 2, part 1a of the manuscript paper
, la, . . . are erased, and new characters etc. can be written in these parts as necessary.

To return the cloudy part of the thermal sheet 2 to a transparent state for the next use, use the heating end 4 of the pen-shaped heating member 3.
By switching the temperature setting switch 6, the temperature is set to a temperature (first temperature) that changes the cloudy state to the transparent state, and the heating head 4 is brought into contact with the part of the heat-sensitive sheet 2 that is in the cloudy state. As a result, the heat-sensitive sheet 2 becomes transparent.

In addition, the heating head 4 of the pen-shaped heating member 3 can be heated to a second position by adjusting the heating width changeover switch 7 and appropriately switching the heating width of the heating head according to the difference in the width of characters, etc. that need to be deleted or corrected. As shown in Figure (b), the size of the cloudy part on which the heat-sensitive sheet 20 is formed can be changed as appropriate.

FIG. 3 shows one form of a heat-sensitive sheet, in which one side of a holder-shaped transparent substrate 8 folded in half is used as a heat-sensitive sheet baa, and between the heat-sensitive sheet 8a and the transparent support substrate 8b on the other side, a By sandwiching the original cover 1 that requires correction, the positioning of the thermal sheet 8a and the original cover 1 can be ensured, and the work can be carried out efficiently. As for the shape of the heat-sensitive sheet, it is possible to use a holder type sheet with heat-sensitive sheets on both sides, and it is also possible to use another shape that is different from the holder type type and can ensure the positioning of the original paper.
