The present invention provides a vehicle lamp in which a large number of light emitting diodes are connected in series and parallel as a light source, and includes a current limiting resistor interposed in each row, and two luminous intensity switching resistors each having a resistance value of a fixed ratio. The present invention is characterized in that it is equipped with a switching circuit that switches both of these luminous intensity switching resistors in parallel for a stop display and in series for a tail display, and that the current limiting resistor is connected in a closed loop in either switching.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, where A is a light source in which a large number of light emitting diodes LED are connected in series and parallel, for example, a series circuit of four light emitting diodes LED and a current limiting resistor R 0 is connected as required. The configuration is connected in parallel. B is a battery, S is a three-pole double-throw switch, R 1 and R 2 are luminous intensity switching resistors, and the resistance values are such that the luminous intensity ratio at tail and stop times is 1:5. They are interposed between the light source A and the battery B so that they are connected in series at tail time and in parallel at stop time.

When the switch S is operated as shown in the figure, the resistors R 1 and R 2 are connected in parallel, and the circuit at that time becomes as shown in FIG. 2. Battery B
The voltage of is V, the total current flowing through the circuit is I 1 , the voltage applied to light source A is V P , the current flowing through each LED series circuit making up light source A is I P , the number of LED series circuits connected in parallel is n, If the current limiting resistor connected in series with each LED is R 0 , then V=R 1・R 2 /R 1 +R 2 I 1 +R 0 I P +V P I 1 =n・I P , so V=(nR 1・R 2 /R 1 +R 2 )I P +V P Therefore, I P =V−V P /(nR 1・R 2 /R 1 +R 2 +R 0 ).

とすると、 V=(R1+R2)I2+R0IS+VS I2=n・ISであるから V={n(R1+R2)+R0}IS+VS 従つて IS=V−VS/{n(R1+R2)+R0 となる。
On the other hand, when the switch S is switched to the opposite side from that shown, the resistors R 1 and R 2 are connected in series, and the circuit at that time becomes as shown in FIG. 3. In this case, the total current flowing through the circuit is I 2 , the voltage applied to light source A is V S , and the current flowing through each LED series circuit making up light source A is I S
Then, since V=(R 1 +R 2 )I 2 +R 0 I S +V S I 2 =n・I S , V={n(R 1 +R 2 )+R 0 }I S +V S Therefore, I S =V−V S /{n(R 1 +R 2 )+R 0 .

れる電流IPとISの比は、 IP/IS=n(R1+R2)+R0/nR1・R2/R1+R2+R0 =n(R1+R22+R0(R1+R2)/nR1・R2+R0(R1
Here, if V P = V S , the ratio of the currents I P and I S flowing through each LED series circuit is I P /I S =n (R 1 + R 2 ) + R 0 /nR 1・R 2 /R 1 +R 2 +R 0 =n(R 1 +R 2 ) 2 +R 0 (R 1 +R 2 )/nR 1・R 2 +R 0 (R 1 +
R 2 ).

Therefore, if I P :I S =5:1, n=20, and R0 =100Ω, then 5/1=20( R1 + R2 ) 2 +100( R1 + R2 )/ 20R1R2 )
+100(R 1 +R 2 ) 20(R 1 +R 2 ) 2 +100(R 1 +R 2 = 5 {20R 1・R 2 2 +100(R 1 +R 2 )} 5(R 1 +R 2 ) 2 −25R 1・R 2 −100(R 1 +R 2 )=0 R 2 1 +2R 1・R 2 +R 2 2 −5R 1・R 2 −20 (R 1 +R 2 )=0 R 2 1 −(3R 2 +20) R 1 +R 2 2 −20R 2 =0 Therefore, R 1 =3R 2 +20±√(3R 2 +20) 2 −4(R 2 / 2 −20R 2
)/2 = 3R 2 +20±√5R 2 / 2 +200R 2 +400/2, and from this formula, when R 2 = 20Ω, R 1 = 80Ω (or 0Ω).

Therefore, if the values of resistors R 1 and R 2 are selected so that the ratio of current I P to current I S is 5:1 or more, the current of light source A will be larger when they are paralleled (when stopped). , the luminous intensity ratio between stop and tail is 5:1 or more.

As described above, according to the present invention, two light intensity switching resistors each having a resistance value of a predetermined ratio are connected in series and in parallel using a switching circuit to change the current flowing through a light source made of a light emitting diode at a predetermined ratio. , the stop display and tail display can be clearly distinguished. Moreover, unlike incandescent light bulbs, even if the light fixture has a large number of light emitting diodes connected in series and parallel, the current limiting resistor connected to each row allows the light emitting surface to be adjusted to the appropriate brightness, whether in stop display or tail display. It has various excellent effects such as being able to make it shine evenly.
