Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a coating material which can be uniformly applied to a high-temperature object to impart excellent corrosion resistance thereto by mixing a base resin with a solvent, a pigment component containing a rust- preventive pigment, and an auxiliary containing a paraffinic additive. CONSTITUTION:A pigment component (A) containing a rust-preventive pigment (e.g. iron oxide) is mixed with a base resin (B) (e.g. an alkyd resin), a solvent (C) (e.g. an alcoholic solvent), and an auxiliary (D) containing a paraffinic additive to prepare a corrosion-resistant coating material for application to a high- temperature object. The incorporation of the rust-preventive pigment as pigment component improves the rustproofness of a coating film itself, while the incorporation of the paraffinic additive as an auxiliary can give a uniform coating film even when there is ruggedness on the surface of an object to be coated so that edge covering capability is improved. Therefore, the coating material thus prepared can give high corrosion resistance even when applied to a high- temperature object.
