[Prior Art] Stud welding is a method in which welding energy is applied between a stud attached to a stud welding gun held in a required positional relationship and the base metal to be welded, generating an arc to perform instantaneous welding. It is widely used in various industrial fields because of its simplicity and ability to weld even thin plate-like base materials easily, reliably, and cleanly and instantaneously. When an arc is generated between the stud and the base metal due to the application of welding energy,
The metal of the stud and base metal melted by this arc scatters around and adheres to the surface of the base metal. In order to prevent such scattering of molten metal, for example, in arc stud welding, an arc shield is usually attached to the tip of the stud to suppress scattering of molten metal as much as possible. However, as a practical matter, such means alone cannot completely suppress the scattering of molten metal. Metal scattered on the surface of the base material, etc. becomes stuck there over time and becomes difficult to remove. Conventionally, therefore, a spatter adhesion prevention agent is applied in advance to the surface of the base material to be stud-welded with a brush or the like to prevent the spattered metal from adhering.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] By the way, since the conventional spatter adhesion prevention agent is applied using a brush or the like,
Although stud welding itself can be performed easily and quickly, it takes time and effort to apply the spatter adhesion prevention agent, and as a result, the workability of stud welding is significantly impaired. When welding a large number of studs to a relatively large base material, applying a spatter preventive agent over the entire base material prior to welding tends to cause uneven coating, and the application may become uneven after a certain period of time. The spatter adhesion prevention agent dries up and no longer works to prevent spatter adhesion. Also, it is troublesome to apply spatter adhesion prevention agent to the planned area surrounding the part of each stud that will be welded, so it is important to apply the spatter adhesion prevention agent appropriately over the entire surface of the base material. It's normal. This not only unnecessarily increases the amount of the spatter adhesion prevention agent used, but also requires time and effort to wipe off the spatter adhesion prevention agent on the surface of the base material later.

[Function] In the stud welding gun according to the present invention configured as described above, the stud to be welded is attached to the stud welding gun and positioned on the base material in the usual manner, and the spatter adhesion prevention agent applicator is first activated. As a result, the required amount of the spatter adhesion preventive agent is sprayed from the nozzle body over the predetermined range of the welding area on the surface of the base material. After a scheduled delay time from the activation of the gun trigger, that is, after the spatter adhesion prevention agent has been sprayed, the welding gun body is activated, welding energy is supplied between the stud attached to the welding gun and the base metal, and stud welding is performed. It can be done. In this case, since the spatter adhesion prevention agent is applied each time stud welding and stud welding can be performed immediately after applying the spatter adhesion prevention agent, the application of the spatter adhesion prevention agent can be kept to the minimum necessary. and by this,
Wiping after welding becomes easy, which is particularly advantageous in the case of base materials where it is desired to avoid contamination by liquids such as spatter adhesion prevention agents.

As shown in the figure, the stud welding gun main body 1 is provided with mounting flanges 9 and 10 at the front and rear parts, respectively, and on both of these mounting flanges 9 and 10, a spatter adhesion prevention agent applicator 11, which may be of a spray type, for example, is provided. installed. This spatter adhesion prevention agent applicator 11 includes a nozzle body 12 and an injection control device 13, and the nozzle body 12 has its tip directed toward the front of the collect 3.
In addition, the injection control device 13 receives the spatter adhesion prevention agent from a spatter adhesion prevention agent supply container (not shown) via a pipe 14, and utilizes a pressurized fluid such as compressed air used to drive the stud welding gun body 1. (i.e., in the illustrated embodiment, the pressure fluid can be received from the rear of the stud welding gun body 1 through a pipe not shown), and a predetermined amount of anti-spatter agent is injected through the nozzle body 12. has been done. That is, the stud welding gun body 1
By pressing the push button 15 provided at the rear of the nozzle body 12, a predetermined amount of spatter adhesion prevention agent is applied to the nozzle body 12.
Inject from. After spraying the spatter adhesion prevention agent,
By pulling the trigger button 5, a welding operation control signal is supplied from the operation control device (not shown) to the stud welding gun main body 1 via the operation control cable 7, and at the same time, via the welding energy supply cable 8 (not shown). Welding energy is supplied from a welding power source and discharges between the stud 2 attached to the welding gun and a base metal (not shown) to generate an arc and weld the stud to the surface of the base metal. In this case, the welding area on the surface of the base metal is coated with a spatter adhesion prevention agent in advance, so even if spatter, that is, molten metal, is scattered due to arc generation, it will not stick to the base metal. Even if it does adhere, it can be easily removed.

The present invention is not limited to the hand-held stud welding gun as shown in the figure, but can equally be applied to various types of stud welding guns, including stationary ones. The construction of the applicator itself can be designed in various ways; for example, it can be integrated into a stud welding gun if necessary. Further, by means of a suitable switch mechanism, the operation of the anti-spatter applicator can be stopped so that only stud welding can be carried out. Furthermore, the spatter adhesion prevention agent applicator and the welding gun itself can be sequentially operated by operating the trigger switch. That is, by pressing a trigger button provided on the handle, an operation command signal is supplied from an operation control device (not shown) to the injection control device in the spatter adhesion prevention agent coating device, thereby controlling the operation.

[Effects of the invention] As explained above, in the stud welding gun according to the invention, by combining the spatter adhesion prevention agent application mechanism to the stud welding gun body, the spatter adhesion prevention agent can be applied simply by operating the stud welding gun. A series of stud welding operations including the application of stud welding can be performed, and the work efficiency of stud welding can be greatly improved. In addition, since the spatter adhesion prevention agent is applied each time before each stud welding, the applied spatter adhesion prevention agent does not dry out and the spatter adhesion prevention effect is virtually lost, resulting in a more reliable spatter adhesion prevention effect. Moreover, excessive or wasteful application can be avoided, and processing such as wiping after stud welding can be easily performed.
