An indwelling urethral catheter is used when it is necessary to measure urine output over time during or after surgery, to manage the general condition of critically ill patients, or when there is a problem with prostate hypertrophy or other diseases. It is used to insert the device into the bladder from the urethral opening through the urethra to ensure that urination is not obstructed in cases where self-urination is not completely possible.

The catheter shown in FIG. 1 is a schematic illustration of a commonly used urethral indwelling catheter 1.
At the tip of the catheter, there is usually an opening 2 with a plurality of openings, followed by a balloon 4 that is inflated by water supplied from a water inlet 3, and the water inlet 3 and balloon 4 are connected to each other through small holes in the catheter wall (not shown). It's communicating. Further, in the figure, reference numeral 5 denotes a rear end opening which serves as a urine outlet, and is connected to a urine storage bag or the like by a connector (not shown) or is stopped by a plug material.

However, there are the following three problems with the above-mentioned known urethral indwelling catheter.

(b) Since the catheter lumen is just a tube, when the catheter is inserted into the bladder, the urine stored in the bladder immediately flows out, contaminating the hands and fingers of the person operating the catheter.

(b) Since urine flows continuously from the kidneys to the bladder through the ureters, regardless of the patient's will, patients who can sit up and walk should not carry a urine storage bag connected to a catheter when walking. Must be.

(c) As a measure against (b) above, plugging material may be used at the catheter opening, but with the plugging material currently widely used, the plugging material cannot be attached or removed by touching the plugging material directly each time urine is drained. Not only is the operation complicated, but there are also many opportunities for fingers to come into contact with the catheter lumen, making it easy to cause intraluminal retrograde bladder infection through the catheter lumen.

On the other hand, there is a physiological and anatomical backflow prevention mechanism at the junction between the bladder and ureter, so there is no need to worry about urine accumulating in the bladder.

The present invention solves these conventional problems; even when the catheter is inserted into the bladder, urine does not flow out immediately; it can be drained with a simple operation, and even when the patient is walking. To provide a catheter that does not require carrying around a urine storage bag.

In order to achieve the above object, the catheter according to the present invention is formed into a closed part so that the lumen can be opened by pressing the rear end opening located outside the body of the catheter with a finger, and the closed part is closed. It is characterized in that the valve leaflet is provided closer to the rear end side. With this configuration, even if the catheter is inserted into the bladder, the obstruction portion prevents urine from flowing out of the body. To drain the urine, press the rear opening of the catheter with your finger. This pressure opens the lumen of the catheter in which the occluded portion is located, and the urine in the bladder flows out from the opening. Then, to stop the leakage again, all you have to do is stop pressing.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the rear end opening 5, which serves as a urine outlet, is formed into a closing portion 8 that functions similar to a valve. The closed portion 8 can be formed by inserting a peeling film into the inner cavity of the rear end opening 5 made of elastic plastic material at an arbitrary position, crushing it by applying heat and pressure from the outside, and then removing the peeling thin film. Such a closing portion 8 normally closes the inner cavity, and can be opened by pressing from the outside with a finger. The pressing direction is the direction indicated by the arrow in FIG.

Reference numeral 9 denotes a valve leaflet, which is provided on the rear end side (on the bladder side) of the obstruction part 8. This valve leaflet 9 supplementally prevents urine from leaking from the obstructed portion 8 which is in a closed state.

In the embodiment described above, when the obstructing portion 8 in FIG. 2 is in the obstructed state, urine is not discharged from the body but remains in the bladder. As shown in Fig. 3, the blockage part 8

Since this device has the above-described configuration, even if the device is inserted into the bladder, urine from the bladder does not immediately flow out of the body as in the conventional case, and urine can be prevented from flowing out. Therefore, the hands and fingers of the operator such as the patient are not contaminated with urine. Moreover, the lumen of the closed portion can be opened by a simple operation, and the operability is excellent. In addition, it is possible to prevent urine from flowing out of the body from the bladder by using an extremely simple structure that forms an obstruction, without the need to attach any special parts, and the manufacturing cost can be kept low. . It also has a valve leaflet, so it can effectively prevent urine leakage.
Furthermore, there are many excellent practical effects, such as eliminating the need for the patient to carry a urine storage bag when walking as in the past.
