さや、背影の明るさによって表示自体が見難くならない
よう表示部の明るさを調整する調光装置を付属せしめて
なる。前記調光装置の内インパネ部分に設けられるパネ
ル表示装置は、微妙な調整を必要としないので一般に手
@(可変抵抗の操作)で行われており、ヘッドアップデ
イスプレィ表示装置に在っては表示部の背影が運転中に
微妙に且つ大きく変化するので、自動調整が行われてい
る(特開昭62−50237号)。 また一般に車両に搭載した表示装置には、表示部の特に
通常表示されない警告表示部が動作するかどうかのチェ
ック機能を備えており、このチェック機能としては車両
のイグニションキーをスイッチオンした際に、短時間だ
け表示部を一斉に或いは順次発光表示させるものが知ら

に動作するか否やのみをチェックするものであって、そ
のチェック時に設定されている調光輝度で動作するもの
である。従って調光装置が正常に作動するか否かはチェ

光装置の動作もチェックできるようにすることを提案し

表示形態が全部−斉に若しくは順次に発光表示されるよ

発明は調光装置を備えた表示装置に於て、当該表示装置
を始動させるに際して、調光を行わない状態で一旦表示
点灯させ、その後調光を行った明るさにするものであれ
ば、前記した・\ラドアラフチイス11イ表示装置以外
のインストルメン)・パネルに於て発光表示するデジタ
ル型表示装置についても同様であり、またその調光の具
体的手段も全く任意に定めることができるものである。 (発明の効果) 本発明は以上のように車両等の表示装置で、特に調光装
置を付設したものに於て、特に装置の始動時に予め定め
た輝度で一旦点灯させた後、調光を行うようにしたもの
て、装置の始動時に調光機能が正常に作動するかのチェ
