(Prior art and its problems) As shown in Fig. 5, the tile main body A of a conventional metal tile is made of a stainless steel plate, but the backing material B applied to this is made of slate material or a material made of slate material. Because they were made of similar materials, the tiles were heavier and weaker.
Moreover, since it absorbs moisture well and becomes easily broken, there is a problem that it cannot be used outdoors or in bathrooms.

(Technical means for solving the problem) The present invention is intended to solve the above problem, and the technical means for that purpose is to replace the backing material 3 with a metal plate to form the tile body 2. It is characterized in that it is formed to have a concave portion 5 on the back surface of which the outer surface of the bottom wall abuts, and a convex portion 4 that is spaced apart from the back surface.

In these figures, reference numeral 1 denotes a metal tile, which consists of a tile body 2 made of a stainless steel plate and having a rectangular shape in plan view, and a backing material 3 also made of a stainless steel plate. The backing material 3 is provided with convex stripes 4 and convex stripes 5 which are alternately and continuously provided, and the bottom wall of each concave strip 5 is provided with a plurality of cuts at appropriate intervals in the longitudinal direction. Raised pieces 6 are formed, and each raised piece 6 stands up in the protruding direction of the convex strip 5.
Further, the standing height of each cut and raised piece 6 is lower than the height of the protruding strip 5, as is clear from FIGS. 3 and 4. Then, the concave portions 5 located on both sides,
As is clear from FIG. 3, the outer edges 7, 7 of the bottom wall of each of the grooves 5 are slightly upwardly inclined, and the outer edges 7, 7 of the bottom wall of each of the grooves 5 located in the middle are formed in a slightly upwardly inclined shape. As is clear from FIG. 4, the numeral 8 extends slightly outward and is formed in an upwardly inclined shape. Furthermore, each end edge 9 of each protruding strip 4 is bent downward at a right angle. Incidentally, in order to form each cut and raised piece 6, it is sufficient to make, for example, a U-shaped cut in the bottom wall of the grooved portion 5 and raise this portion.

Therefore, in order to attach the backing material 3 having the above-described structure to the tile body 2, the outer surface of the bottom wall of each grooved portion 5 of the backing material 3 should be brought into contact with the back surface of the tile body 2. At the same time, each side edge 7 and each end edge 8 may be inserted inside each folded edge 10. Since the side edges 7 and the end edges 8 are inclined upward as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the tip edge of each folded edge 10 exerts a downward pressing action. As a result, the entire backing material 3 is securely fixed to the tile body 2. The tile main body 2 and the backing material 3 are each formed by press working.

The method of attaching this metal tile 1 is almost the same as that for ceramic tiles or conventional metal tiles. When attaching this tile 1, the backing material 3 is attached to the wall or floor surface using mortar, cement paste, etc. In this case, the grooves 5 of the backing material 3 are As the mortar and the like enter, each cut-and-raised piece 6 is interposed in the mortar and the like, which improves the bite of the mortar and thus ensures the fixation of the tile 1 to the wall surface or the like. The joints between the metal tiles 1 are filled with white cement or the like.

In the above-mentioned embodiment, the recesses and projections formed on the backing material are illustrated as grooves and ridges, such as the grooves 5 and the projections 4. It is also possible to provide recessed portions and make these recessed portions, and to make the non-depressed portions convex portions.
Furthermore, as the material for the tile body and the backing material, other than stainless steel plates, metal plates such as aluminum plates and body plates can be used.

(Effects of the invention) According to the invention, it is possible to reduce the weight compared to conventional metal tiles, and since the backing material is made of a metal plate, it can be used outdoors, in bathrooms, etc. This makes it possible to ensure sufficient strength. In addition, when using tiles, since the backing material has a recessed portion, mortar and the like can bite into the tiles better, thereby providing the effect of reliably and firmly adhering to a wall or the like. Furthermore, since the backing material can be made very easily by press working or the like, it is possible to reduce the cost of the metal tile.
