Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate a blown fuse from among a number of fuse circuits at sight for facilitating replacement of the fuse, by providing the circuits with a nearly material which changes its color irreversibly with the temperature rize of the fuse part. CONSTITUTION:In a card type fuse used for an automobile or the like, separate ends of a fuse metal 1 having thin fuse parts 1a are fixed to a transparent insulation base part 2, and the whole body of the fuse is covered with a transparent insulation cover 3. In this constitution, a completely irreversible temperature indicating material 4 is attached to the thin fuse part 1a for the whole body including other fuse parts 1a parallel to it. When any of the fuse parts 1a is blown, therefore, the color of the temperature indicating material 4 at the part is changed, and the position of the fuse part 1 blown can be decided easily. For the color change, there are types of those from white to dark red, from pink to black, etc., and any of these can be selected.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides an irreversible color-changing fuse that solves the above-mentioned problems, and is characterized by a substance that irreversibly changes color as the temperature of the fuse part increases. This is due to the fact that it is placed close to the fuse part.

Example 2: An irreversible temperature-indicating paint (Gamma Kagaku Kogyo, Thermo Check CF-290, which changes color from pale pink to black at 290°C) is applied on the cover of the transparent insulator directly above the narrow fuse part of the card fuse type. Coated and dried. An overcurrent flowed and the fuse blown, but among the many fuses in the circuit, the fuse in question changed color from bright pink to black, so it was possible to tell which fuse had blown with the naked eye.
