[Detailed Description of the Invention] (Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a bumper for automobiles that can reduce air resistance and provide stable running of the vehicle body.

(Prior Art) Bumpers for automobiles are manufactured to match the front shape of the car in which they are used, so the shape of the bumper is generally determined by the body line of the car. Since the bumper usually has a U-shape, the air resistance in this part is extremely large, which poses a problem in terms of energy saving measures. Further, from the viewpoint of the protection function of the vehicle body, it is preferable that the bumper has a large vertical width, but in this case, there is a trade-off in that air resistance increases in proportion to the vertical width.

It is expected that such problems can be solved to some extent by bumpers having a rectifying effect, such as those disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 56-42477 and Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 57-158543. In other words, the former (Utility Model Application No. 56-42477)
In this method, a window hole is provided at a predetermined position on the front surface of the bumper, an air guide pipe is connected to this window hole, and the rear end of the air guide pipe is placed at the end of the bumper, thereby reducing the amount of air that hits the front surface of the bumper. The latter type (Utility Model Publication No. 57-158543)
No. 1) has both end portions formed into a duct shape, and an air intake port is formed in the duct-like portion, and both of them have air resistance at least at the window holes and air intake locations. It is possible to reduce the number of deaths.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, in order to further reduce air resistance, it is difficult to provide a large number of such air intake ports, or to provide a small number of air intake ports with a large opening area. This is not practical due to problems with the structure of the bumper. In other words, this type of bumper is usually formed by press molding, and once the bumper is formed, window holes and air intakes are bored, and these windows and air intakes are filled with the above-mentioned holes. Since the air guide tube or duct is attached to the window hole or air intake port, it is not possible to make the window hole or air intake port very large. Thus, it must be said that the bumper described in the above-mentioned publication is still insufficient to reduce air resistance.

The present invention was created in view of the above circumstances, and aims to improve this type of bumper and take it one step further by proposing a bumper for automobiles that can reduce air resistance and also stabilize the vehicle body when driving. It is something.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the present invention has a groove 2 integrally formed from the central part of the front part of the bumper body 1 to both ends. At the same time, a through hole 3 communicating with the groove 2 is integrally provided at both ends, and the groove depth surface 4 of the groove is formed to be gradually deeper with respect to the front face 5 of the bumper. and the lower surface 6 of the groove 2,
The bumper is provided integrally with the bumper body 1 so as to be inclined downwardly in the front direction along the groove depth surface 4.

(Function) When configured in this way, the depth surface 4 of the groove 2
In other words, the surface that receives air resistance during driving becomes a curved surface that reduces air resistance relative to the front surface 5 of the bumper, and the air flow guided by the grooves 2 is attracted by the air flow passing through the through hole 3 and guided. As a result, air resistance can be reduced without creating turbulent flow at the front face 5 of the bumper and thus generating unnecessary resistance, thereby not only achieving the conventional rectifying effect but also further reducing air resistance. becomes possible.

In addition, since the lower surface 6 of the groove 2 is sloped downward toward the front of the vehicle, the air flow is directed to the lower surface 6 when the vehicle is running.
The pressure exerts a force that pushes the vehicle body downward, a so-called down force, which stabilizes the vehicle body.

(Embodiment) The present invention will be explained below based on the illustrated embodiment. The bumper of the present invention has grooves 2 formed from the central part of the front part of the bumper body 1 to both ends, and grooves 2 at both ends. The groove 2 is provided with a through hole 3 that communicates with the groove depth surface 4.
It is formed so that it becomes gradually deeper with respect to the front surface 5 of the bumper. In this case, the depth surface 4 of the groove 2, that is, the surface that receives air resistance during driving, becomes a curved surface that reduces air resistance relative to the front surface 5 of the bumper, and moreover, the air guided by the groove 2 Since the flow is attracted and guided by the air flow passing through the through hole 3, air resistance can be reduced without creating turbulence at the front face 5 of the bumper, and therefore without generating unnecessary resistance. In addition, in the embodiment, the through hole 3 is formed integrally with the bumper body 1, but for example, only the groove 2 is formed on the bumper body 1, and the bumper body 1
The through holes 3 may be formed by separately fitting appropriate members into the grooves 2 at appropriate positions on both ends of the grooves 2.

また、本案のバンパーにおいて、溝条2の下面

Further, in the bumper of the present invention, the lower surface 6 of the groove 2 is inclined downwardly toward the front of the vehicle. This is because when the vehicle is formed in this manner, the airflow presses against the lower surface 6 during running, resulting in a so-called downforce, creating a spoiler-like effect in this portion. Similarly, the depth surface 4
It is also preferable to form a plurality of slits 7, 7 each having an inclined surface 41. These slits 7,7
The bumper not only has the same spoiler effect as the lower surface 6 but also has a design effect on the conventionally monotonous decorative surface of the bumper.

It should be noted that a bumper according to the present invention can be provided with the above-mentioned structure and formed by, for example, press molding or integral molding of plastic.

(Effect of the invention) As explained above, the bumper of the present invention has grooves integrally formed from the central part of the front part of the bumper body to both ends, and a through hole communicating with the grooves is integrally formed at both ends. Since the groove depth surface is formed to be gradually deeper than the front surface of the bumper, the groove depth surface becomes a curved surface that reduces air resistance. The airflow passing through the through hole communicating with the bumper is attracted and guided, and air resistance can be reduced without creating turbulence at the front of the bumper. Moreover, in the present invention, since the lower surface of the groove is sloped downward toward the front of the vehicle, the air flow presses the lower surface during driving, producing a force that pushes the vehicle body downward, so-called downforce. This stabilizes the vehicle body.
