。(b) Conventional technology In general, facsimile machines have an automatic switching function with a telephone, and when they detect an incoming call, they seize the line and ring the telephone for a period of time until switching to FAX, as shown in Figure 2. A ringback tone of about 400Hz is sent to the calling party. Therefore, a caller who makes a manual call can confirm that a call is in progress because a ringback tone is returned. In addition, at the same time as the ringback tone is output, the called side detects a 1100Hz calling tone (hereinafter referred to as CNG) shown in Figure 3, which indicates that the calling side is in automatic call mode. The device is configured to switch from a telephone to a facsimile device when it detects this (for example, see Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-63280).

The system is configured so that when NG is detected multiple times (usually twice), it is determined to be normal CNG and detected.
When detecting the second CNG after detecting , depending on the timing, the CNG and ringback tone signals overlap as shown in Figure 8, and the second CNG cannot be detected and must wait until the next CNG. As a result, it took a long time to switch to FAX. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, conventionally, as shown in Fig. 9, when the first CNG is detected, the ringback tone transmission is stopped from then on.
Although it is configured to facilitate the detection of the next CNG,
Even if the first detection is not CNG but a false detection, the ringback tone is interrupted, so there is a problem that the caller who made the call manually finds the interruption of the ringback tone strange. Ta.

SL) detects whether or not there is an incoming call, and when an incoming call is detected, the process advances to step (S2) and the line switching circuit (9) is controlled to seize the line. Next, the control device (1) proceeds to step (S3) and calls the telephone (10), and after setting the exit time of the ringback tone in step (S4), the control device (1) starts the ringback tone generation circuit (14). Controls the ringback tone and starts leaving the telephone line (L).
Output to. Therefore, when the caller dials manually, the caller can confirm that the telephone (10) is being called by the returned ringback tone. After starting to send out the ringback tone, the control device (1) then checks the output of the hookup detection circuit (15) in step (S5) to detect the telephone set (
10) detects whether or not hook-up has been performed, and if hook-up is detected, the process proceeds to hook-up processing, but if no hook-up is detected, the process proceeds to step (S6), and the sending time (1 second) set in step (S4) has elapsed. If the sending time has not elapsed, the process returns to step (S5), and when the sending time has elapsed, the ringback tone generation circuit (14) is controlled in step (S7) to stop generating the ringback tone. At the same time, set the stop time (2 seconds). Next, the process proceeds to steps (S8), (S9), and (S10), where hook-up detection, CNG detection, and detection of whether or not the stop time has elapsed are performed.
If no NG is detected, proceed to step (Sll) and determine whether the preset bathing time has ended,
If not completed, the process advances to step (S3) and the same process as described above is repeated to generate a ringback tone again. In this way, as shown in FIG. 2, a ring back tone with a cycle of 1 second for exit time and 2 seconds for stop time is generated for a preset period. If the telephone (10) on the called side is not hooked up within the ringback tone generation period and CNG is not detected, the control device (1) proceeds from step (Sll) to step (512) and switches the line switching circuit ( 9) to connect the telephone line (L) to the telephone (1).

If the person on the called side responds with the telephone (10) during the period when the ringback tone is being sent out, that is, the period when the called side's telephone (10) is ringing, the call can be made, but the call can be made within a predetermined ringing period. If there is no response from the telephone (10) during the call, the ringback tone disappears, and the state is switched to facsimile reception, the calling party determines that the called party is away and hangs up.

Exit the ringback tone and step (
In step S9), CNG is detected. At this time, a ringback tone is sent back to the calling party, but since the calling party does not have a handset, the calling party does not hear it. As shown in Fig. 6, at the time T when the first CNG is transmitted, the CNG and the ringback tone overlap and the CNG
cannot be detected, but T when the second CNG is sent out,
At the time point, there is no overlap between CNG and ringback tone, and CNG is detected by the detection circuit (12), so
The control device (1) that detected CNG in step (S9) proceeds to the subroutine of CNG detection processing in step (513), and in step (S14) shown in FIG.
A determination is made as to whether or not this is the second detection. Since this is the first time, the process proceeds to step (518) and determines whether or not the CNG has ended. If it has not, the process proceeds to step (S21) and determines whether the time has expired or not. Detect whether or not. When the control device (1) detects that CNG has ended within the preset time-over period, the control device (1) then proceeds to step (519) and determines whether the CNG period is a predetermined 0.5 seconds or not. CNG
Detection is performed to determine whether or not. In the case of regular CNG, increase the CNG counter configured in the control device (1) by +1.
Then, in step (S23), the CNG counter becomes 2.
However, since it is still 1, the process proceeds to step (525) and waits until a predetermined time period of t seconds (in this case, 1 second) has elapsed. When one second has elapsed, the process advances to step (S11.) and it is determined whether or not the predetermined ringing period has ended, but since it has not yet ended, the process advances to step (S3) and starts sending out a ringback tone. As a result, as shown in FIG. 6, a ringback tone is generated at time T, one second after the end of CNG. This ringback tone is generated at a time shorter than the original ringback tone generation period of 2 seconds shown in FIG. 6(C).

It is determined whether the stop period until the first CNG is the specified 3 seconds or not. If it is the specified time, the process proceeds to step (318) and the same process as described above is performed, but if it is not the specified time, step (517) is performed. After clearing the CNG counter in step (518), CNG detection and countering are performed from the beginning. If the specified time has elapsed, the CNG counter is incremented by 1 to 2 in step (520), and the process moves from step (S23) to step (524) to enter the facsimile reception state. Therefore, when CNG is detected twice, the facsimile receiving state is automatically entered. Since ringback tones are not generated overlappingly during the second CNG detection, CNG can be reliably detected.

Since the configuration is configured to generate a ringback tone after a predetermined period of time has elapsed after detecting G, the ringback tone is generated at a different interval from the normal interval, so when CNG is detected for the second time, the ringback tone and CNG are There is no overlap, and CNG can be reliably detected. Since the ringback tone is not interrupted during a call, it does not give a strange feeling to the caller.
