ス上に搬入した後それを搬出すると共に、その搬
出方向と反対の方向にも原稿を逆搬送可能な搬送
装置とを備えた自動原稿給送装置を搭載し、前記
コンタクトガラスの搬送上流側に固定配置した原
稿突き当て部材と、感光体上の電荷の一部をイレ
ースしてそこに形成される画像の範囲を狭めるイ
レーサとを備えた複写機において、 前記搬送経路上にそこを通過する原稿の厚さを
測定する原稿厚さ測定手段を設けると共に、該測
定手段の測定値を入力してその入力値が予め定め
た所定の厚さ以上であれば前記コンタクトガラス
上に送り込まれた原稿を前記搬送装置によつて逆
搬送してその原稿端を前記原稿突き当て部材に突
き当てて停止させる原稿突き当てモードを選択し
、所定の厚さ未満であれば原稿をその後端が前記
原稿突き当て部材を通過した直後に停止させる非
原稿突き当てモードを選択し、且つ該モードの時
には前記イレーサによる前記感光体上の前記原稿
端側画像のイレース量を所定量増加させるように
制御する制御装置を設けたことを特徴とする自動
