Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically make a calling tone into a sound volume or sound tone suitable for an environmental situation by providing a decoder inputting the input signal of a sound sensor to change the intensity of the sound of a telephone set external part to an electric signal and to outputting the address signal of a ROM in which the sound information of the calling tone is stored. CONSTITUTION:The telephone set is provided with a sound sensor 1 to detect the sound of the external part, a decoder 2, a ROM 3 for calling tone information, a calling signal tone generating circuit 4 and a sounding device 5. When a telephone call is executed, the condition of the sound of the telephone set external part is made into a sound information signal 10 by the sound sensor 1 and inputted to the decoder 2. The decoder 2 outputs the address signal 11 of the ROM 3 for calling tone information. Thus, from the ROM 3 for calling sound volume information, a sound volume signal 8 and a tone signal 9 corresponding to the address signal 11 are outputted. The tone signal 9 is inputted to the ringing signal generating circuit 4, and the tone of the ringing tone is controlled. The sound volume signal 8 is inputted to the sounding device 5, and the sound volume is controlled.

In the conventional telephones mentioned above, the volume and tone of the ringtone are either preset to a fixed volume and tone, or the user sets the volume using the adjustment knob on the telephone body. Once set, it often remains in that state for the most part. However, for example, when the phone is very quiet, such as at night, the ringer may ring at the usual volume, making it too loud. Another drawback is that it is difficult to hear the ringtone when the surroundings are very noisy.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a telephone set showing one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, this telephone includes a sound sensor 1 for detecting external sounds, a decoder 2, a ROM 3 for ringing information, a ringing signal tone generating circuit 4, and a sounding device 5. ing. Here, for example, assuming that a telephone call has arrived, an incoming station signal 6 indicating that a telephone call has been received is first inputted to the ringing signal generation circuit 4. Next, the calling signal 7 output from the calling signal generating circuit l2!4 is input to the sounding device 5. On the other hand, the state of the sound outside the telephone set by the sound sensor 1 becomes a sound information signal 10 and is input to the decoder 2. In addition, the decoder 2 has R for ringing information.
Outputs address signal 11 of OM3. R for ringtone information
Information on the volume and tone of the ringtone is written in OM3. The ringing tone information ROM 3 outputs a volume signal 8 and a tone signal 9 in response to the address signal 10 and the ringing signal 7.

The tone signal 9 is input to the ringing signal generation circuit #I4, and the tone of the ringing tone is controlled. The volume signal 8 is input to the sound generating device 5, and the volume is controlled. The ringing signal 7 is active for a certain period of time, becomes inactive for a certain period of time, and then becomes active again. This is repeated while the station arrival signal 6 is active. When the ringing signal 7 is active, the sounding device 5 produces a ringing tone.

As explained above, the present invention provides a telephone that includes a sound sensor for changing the intensity of sound outside the telephone into an electrical signal, a ROM in which sound information of a ringing tone is stored, and a force signal of the sensor. By having a decoder that inputs the address signal to the ROM and outputs the address signal to the ROM, it is possible to automatically adjust the volume or tone of the ring tone to suit the surrounding situation. It has the effect of eliminating things that are difficult to remove.
