Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve lubricating condition between a cylinder and a piston by driving an electric oil pump for a prescribed time by a timer, in association with turning on of an ignition switch, when cold condition is detected by a temperature sensor, during engine start. CONSTITUTION:A throttle valve 3 and reed valve 4 for adjusting an intake air quantity are arranged in an intake passage 2 communicating with the crank chamber 1 of a two cycle engine, and also fuel is injected from a fuel injecting nozzle 5 to the intake air. Lubricating oil sucked from an oil tank 8 by an oil pump 7 interlocking with a crankshaft 6, is supplied from a discharging nozzle 9 to the intake air passage 2. In this case, when the engine is started in cold state, electrification is also carried out onto a timer 16 and a temperature sensor 17, in association with connection of an ignition switch 15 to a power supply battery 18. An electric oil pump 10 is driven, and lubricating oil is supplied from a discharging port 11 thereof to the wall surface of a cylinder 12 so as to lubricate the sliding surface of a piston 13.

When the engine is running continuously, the oil pump rotates together with the engine, and lubricating oil is mixed into the intake gas to provide lubrication. However, when you start a cold engine after the engine has been stopped, the lubricating oil that had adhered to the cylinders and pistons flows down to the bottom of the crank chamber. For this reason, even when the engine is started, lubricating oil does not immediately circulate to the cylinder walls. Then, when the piston undergoes intense sliding motion upon startup, it becomes locally hot and the oil film breaks down, causing scuffing or seizure of the piston.

In view of this, when starting a cold engine, the present invention provides an electric oil pump that is driven for a short time in addition to the oil pump linked to the engine, and discharges lubricating oil onto the cylinder wall to start the engine. The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a lubricating oil supply device for a two-cycle engine that can prevent scuffing and seizure of the piston immediately afterward.

In order to achieve the above object, the lubricating oil supply device for a two-cycle engine of the present invention discharges lubricating oil little by little with an oil pump linked to the engine, supplies it to the intake passage, etc., and mixes it into the intake gas. When starting a cold engine, a temperature sensor detects the cold state, connects the ignition switch, and uses a timer to drive the electric oil pump for a predetermined period of time to discharge lubricating oil onto the cylinder wall. .

In a cold engine, the lubricating oil on the cylinder walls, etc.
The oil film has become thinner as it flows down to the bottom of the crank chamber. In order to start a cold engine, at the same time the ignition switch is connected, a temperature sensor detects the cold state, and the electric oil pump is activated to discharge lubricating oil onto the cylinder wall. An oil film forms on the sliding surface of the piston, preventing piston scuffing and seizure. The electric oil pump is driven by a timer for a short period of time and then stopped. At this time, the lubricating oil from the oil pump linked to the engine circulates to all parts to lubricate them.

The temperature sensor 17 is attached to the cylinder 12 and is energized when the cylinder 12 is cold. When the ignition switch 15 is connected to start a cold engine, the timer 16 and temperature sensor 17 are also energized, and the electric oil pump 10 is driven, sending lubricating oil to the wall of the cylinder 12 and pumping the piston 13. The sliding surface is lubricated to prevent scuffing and seizure of the piston 13.
