Conventionally, paper waste has been used or disposed of in the following ways: ■ Produce recycled paper using recycled paper manufacturing equipment: ■ Incinerate it at a garbage incinerator1 ■ Transport it to a garbage landfill and bury it; However, recycled paper wo-a+-j-

Some research has shown that % of paper is made of materials other than paper, and most of it is not suitable for recycling as paper. In addition, disposal by incineration or landfilling has problems such as increased transportation costs, air pollution, and lack of landfill space, and cannot cope with the increasing amount of waste.

It has not been adopted as a method.

This is a characteristic feature.

Thereafter, cellulase is added to the suspension and maintained at a suitable temperature for the action of the enzyme, hydrolyzing most of the cellulose in the paper to cellobiose.

It is subjected to anaerobic digestion treatment either as it is or mixed with inorganic nutrients for anaerobic microorganisms, surplus sludge, and other organic wastes. The anaerobic digestion treatment can be carried out in the same manner as that carried out in urban sewage treatment plants, etc., and special equipment, conditions, etc. are not required. Anaerobic digestion breaks down cellobiose into a gas consisting primarily of methane.

ある。Experimental results as shown in Table 1 Table 1 [Effects of the Invention] As mentioned above, the treatment method of the present invention treats paper waste with cellulase and then anaerobically digests it, so it can be used regardless of the paper quality. Furthermore, it is possible to efficiently process paper while recovering methane gas, which is useful as fuel, without causing environmental pollution as would be the case with incineration or disposal.
