Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily form the dotty patterns like the high-grade stone grains of granite, marble, etc., by mixing glaze for forming a body and glaze for forming stone grains having high refractoriness and viscosity to prepare the glaze for patterning the surface of cast enamel products, then glazing the products and firing the products. CONSTITUTION:After ground coat slip 2 is glazed on a casting body 1 of a bath tub, etc., the glaze is dried and fired. Underlying layers of stone grains consisting of upper one layer 3 and upper two layers 4 are formed thereon; thereafter, the glaze mixture composed of the glaze 5 for forming the body consisting of 100 parts transparent glaze essentially consisting of 45% SiO2, 10% B2O3, 10% Na2O, and 10% Li2O and 3 parts black coloring pigment and having 15mum average grain size and 2 to 149mum grain size constitution and the glaze 6 for forming the stone grain like dots having the compsn. consisting of 50% SiO2, 8% B2O3, 15% Na2O, 5% Li2O, and 7% b2O5, and having 500mum average grain size and 300 to 840mum grain size constitution is applied on the above-mentioned layers and is fired at 950 to 1050 deg.C.

However, such conventionally proposed methods have the disadvantage that the process is complicated, that the developed stone grain pattern has spots that bleed into the fabric, and that it is difficult to control the pattern development.

The present invention controls the appearance pattern by the particle size structure of the glaze, and the glaze is divided into a dough-forming glaze and a stone pattern-forming glaze. The above problem was solved by using a glaze for forming stone grain spots that has higher fire resistance and higher viscosity than the glaze for fabrics.

By mixing and baking the glaze with a regular extraction glaze to create a fabric shape and a glaze with higher fire resistance and higher viscosity than the fabric glaze as a glaze to create a stone pattern, The glaze used to create the stone millstone pattern is not melted and mixed into the glaze, creating a sharp spotted pattern.

This action is effective when the glaze for fabric formation has a diameter of 2 μm or more to 149 μm.
This becomes even more noticeable when the average particle size is set to 15 μm, and the particle size of the spot-forming glaze is set to 300 μm or more and 840 μm or less, with an average particle size of 500 μm.

If the particle size of the above-mentioned spot-forming glaze is made coarser than 840 μm, the mesh size of the sieve used for sprinkling must be made larger, which deteriorates the distribution of uniform falling from the sieve and causes problems. Uniform patterns and other defects (unevenness) are more likely to occur.

However, if the grain size becomes even finer than 300 μm, the grain pattern becomes smaller and lacks sharpness because it becomes similar to the grain size of the glaze on the fabric.

Table 1 Particle size M! ! I. 2. Characteristics of the stone-grained glaze. 3. Mixing ratio of the stone-grained glaze. As a result, a stone-grained pattern having the cross-sectional structure shown in FIG. 2 was obtained. In the figure, 1 indicates a casting base, and 2 indicates a lower glaze layer. The base of the stone pattern consists of the upper 1 layer 3 and the upper 2 layer 4 formed on this lower glaze layer 2.
A stone grain pattern consisting of and spots 6 is evident. Since the spots 6 had a higher fire resistance than the fabric 5 and were formed from a highly viscous glaze, the spots 6 were difficult to melt, and instead of being round, angular gray particles appeared.
