In addition, edible film is much weaker than ordinary paper or plastic film, and it is difficult to print designs on it as it is.
Furthermore, the process of punching out and encapsulating the label had to be performed in a separate process.

As shown in FIG. 1, the present invention involves coating a base material such as a plastic film with a solution prepared by adjusting the surface of the base material and/or an edible material so as to have a certain peel strength, and drying the solution to form an edible film. In a printing step 2, predetermined patterns, characters, etc. are applied to the edible film surface of the formed raw material 1 by flexographic printing.

Edible label packaging in which the raw material laminated only for the label portion is subjected to a preheating step 6, covered with a coating material 7 made of a heat-sealable moisture-proof film supplied from the top, and the periphery of the label is heat-sealed by a heat-sealing device 8. It is a method of manufacturing the body.

There are no particular limitations on the material of the edible film.
Any known film-formable edible material can be used as appropriate. A specific example thereof is pullulan. The adhesive strength between the heat-sealable base material of the raw material and the edible film is such that it does not peel off during the half-cutting process and the process of peeling off the edible film from unnecessary parts, and it is sufficient for consumer use. A material that can be easily peeled off when peeling, specifically, a peel strength of 5 to 10 g when peeling a 15 mm width at 90 degrees.
It is preferable that the degree of Such peel strength can be adjusted by surface treatment such as corona discharge treatment, selection of the base material or material of the edible film, drying conditions, etc.

In this specification, half punching refers to punching at a depth where the edible film that is in close contact with the base material constituting the raw material is completely punched out by the punching blade, and the base material that guarantees moisture resistance is not punched out. means.

In the manufacturing method of the present invention, since an edible film is used, it tends to expand and contract due to the heat during each processing step, so it is difficult to align the positions of patterns and eye marks, which is conventionally done. It was possible to perform positioning by adjusting the tension of the raw material by detecting it with a rotary encoder in the heat sealing device 8 that heat-seals the coating material.

(Effects of the Invention) In this way, the present invention allows the edible film to adhere to the base material with a peel strength sufficient to allow the film to be peeled off.
As it is processed, the edible film expands and contracts due to moisture absorption,
Not only can curling be prevented, but printing and punching can now be easily performed.

In addition, since the base material of raw materials is used as part of the packaging material, there is no need to fill bags with labels made of edible film, making it easier to package labels, which was previously considered difficult. Encapsulation can be done in one step, simplifying the production line.

(Example) An unstretched polypropylene film (100μ thick) was used as a base material, and a 25% pullulan aqueous solution was coated on it using a comma coater as a stock solution for edible film, and then dried at 60 to 70°C to increase the thickness.
A 20μ edible film was provided to form the raw material.
The adhesive surface of this unstretched polypropylene film with the edible film was previously treated with a corona discharge treatment (36 dyn/cm), and the pullulan aqueous solution contained 0.001 to 0.005% by weight of Shugar ester (based on pullulan) to adjust the peelability. ) was used. As a result, the adhesive strength between the base material and the edible film was approximately 7 g/15 mm width and 90°.

Next, the edible film coated on this base material was cut into 140 mm width parallel to the film's longitudinal direction, and edible ink (Rio Fresh, Red
F550, trade name, manufactured by Toyo Ink Mfg. Co., Ltd. Ink viscosity: Zahnkup #3, 27 seconds (25°C)) Character designs were printed using the flexographic method.
After printing, a circular cutter with a diameter of 40 mm was cut in half using a rotary cutter, and the excess edible film was rolled up. During this half-cutting process, the cutter blade should be inserted into the base material.
Adjustment was made so that it penetrated by about 40μm. Next, a laminate film of stretched polypropylene film (20 μm)/unstretched polypropylene film (25 μm) was superimposed on the remaining edible film as a covering material (or lid material), and then rolled with a heated roller for 5 minutes.
The product was heat-sealed with a width of mm and cut into 60 mm square pieces along the seal line.

A 60 mm square product was obtained by processing in the same manner as in the above example except that unstretched polypropylene/woodfree paper (64 g/m 2 ) was used instead of the unstretched polypropylene film as the base material in the above example. In this case, it was easy to distinguish between the base material and the pullulan film, the red color of the ink was clear, and a beautiful product was obtained.
