Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the high speed of particulates in exhaust gas and prevent a filter from being damaged by installing a diffuser or diffusers disturbing exhaust gas flow hitting directly otherwise the inlet of filter on the exhaust gas upstream side of the filter. CONSTITUTION:A diffuser or diffusers 15 disturbing exhaust gas flow hitting directly otherwise the inlet of a filter 1 for the filter 1 removing particulates in the exhaust gas are installed on one stage or on a plurality of stages on the exhaust gas up-stream side of the filter 1. The diffusers 15 are formed of a material such as a plate metal, ceramic or the like with a plurality of openings, or a wire mesh or the like. As a result, the high speed of particulates in the exhaust gas is reduced to prevent the filter from being damaged. The exhaust gas filter can be stabilized for a long time and work safely.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of Industrial Application The present invention relates to an exhaust gas filter for purifying exhaust gas, and in particular to an exhaust gas filter for removing particulates contained in diesel exhaust gas. Although there is a tendency to tighten regulations on pollutants, especially in place of black smoke regulations, attempts are being made to regulate particulates containing soot (verdiculates). Generally, a filter is provided. This filter uses a ceramic honeycomb, and the ends of adjacent honeycomb cells are alternately closed, and the exhaust gas flows into the open honeycomb cells and passes through the walls of the honeycomb. The particulates pass through the honeycomb cells and flow out of the filter, but at that time, the particulates are filtered out and removed by the walls of the honeycomb cells.

1X The flow velocity of exhaust gas in the exhaust pipe exceeds 50 m/sec. In addition, the exhaust gas contains hard solids (particulates) such as rust that has peeled off from the inner wall of the exhaust pipe, and this collides with the filter together with the exhaust gas, which greatly increases the cross-sectional area of the filter. Even if the exhaust gas flow is 8 times that of the exhaust pipe, the exhaust gas flow will not be able to spread rapidly. Even if it collides with the filter as it is, the solid content in the exhaust gas will have inertia, so it will not spread even more. The exhaust gas flow and the hard solids collide with the end face of the filter, scraping away the weak filter, and eventually damaging the plug blocking the end of the honeycomb cell.
The purpose of the present invention is to solve the problems of the prior art, which causes deterioration of filter characteristics such as particulate leakage. A material with a structure that obstructs and disperses the flow of exhaust gas, such as a material with multiple holes such as punched metal, is installed on the upstream side of the exhaust gas.The exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust pipe is high-speed. Even if it flows into the conical cone that connects to the pipe, it immediately spreads out. For example, a punching metal is placed in the exhaust gas flow to prevent the exhaust gas flow from directly colliding with the filter. By doing so, it is possible to prevent the end face of the filter from being scraped off and the filter function is lost, and to achieve a long service life. Figure 1 shows a structure in which a filter 1 is housed in a container 2.The filter 1 is made of a sheet obtained by wet-forming aluminosilicate fibers and ceramic raw material powder, and one end is filled with a plug raw material. This filter 1 is made by corrugating the material, filling the other end with a plug material, rolling it up, heating it in an electric furnace at 1250°C and burning it to form a ceramic. The inlet cell 3-a has an inlet cell 3-a into which exhaust gas containing curate flows in, and an adjacent outlet cell 3-b into which purified exhaust gas flows out.

Even if the inlet side is sealed with plugs 4-a and 4-b, particulates are filtered and collected by the wall of the inlet cell 3-a.
The artificial end of the silica cloth 7 (manufactured by Nippon Aerosil Co., Ltd.) is further covered with silica cloth 7 and wrapped around the outer peripheral wall 5 of the filter 1, and a thermally expandable heat insulating material 8 (Incrum Mat, manufactured by 3M Company) is wrapped and compressed while being inserted into the container 2. Both end surfaces of the thermally expandable heat insulating material 8 are held down by flanges 9 and IO provided inside the container 2.

By providing the diffuser 15 in this way, the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust inlet pipe 11 at high speed is disturbed by the diffuser 15 and reaches the filter l at a low flow velocity.

This is because the exhaust gas and particulates that have passed through the holes in the punching metal are stalled by the vortices generated behind the punching metal. In this way, the exhaust gases and particulates reach the filter at a low flow velocity. The end face of the filter will not be scraped due to collisions, and it can be used safely for a long period of time.In this example, a single stage of punching metal was used for the diffuser, but it would be even more effective to use multiple stages, with the holes shifted in position. However, it is also possible to use a metal plate or a ceramic plate that has similar effects. The effect of the present invention is that the high-velocity exhaust gas particulates from the exhaust inflow pipe collide directly with the filter. This is an improvement over the problem where the filter function was impaired by scraping the filter.Instant Water As mentioned above, by installing a diffuser such as a punching metal in front of the filter, the high-speed exhaust gas entering the filter can be slowed down. This prevents damage to the exhaust gas filter, allowing it to function stably and safely over a long period of time.
