Abstract

PURPOSE:To simultaneously obtain the optimum tracking positions of a video signal and HiFi sound signal by providing respectively independent tracking circuits for the video signal and the sound signal. CONSTITUTION:A video tracking circuit 17 and a video head angle adjusting circuit 18 are added to the conventional digital tracking mechanism. The digital tracking circuit 8 first matches the sound tracking position with the optimum position by an HiFi sound envelope signal 13 and tape position information 10. A VTR reproduced video tracking circuit 17 calculates the optimum angle of a video head by the video envelope signal 14 and controls the video tracking to the optimum position via the angle adjusting circuit 18 and, therefore, the simultaneous execution of the optimum tracking positions of the sound signal and the video signal is possible.
