PURPOSE:To obtain a detergent composition which is improved in foaming power and detergency and less irritative to skin by adding a specific amount of alkylpolyglyceryl ether as a co-surfactant to alkyl glycoside. CONSTITUTION:A detergent composition is obtained by mixing alkyl glycoside (preferably one represented by formula I, wherein R1 is 8-18C alkyl, alkenyl or alkylphenyl; R2 is 2-4C alkylene; x is 0 to 5; G is a residue derived from a 5-6C reducing sugar; and y is 1.0 to 3.0), and alkyl polyglyceryl ether (preferably one represented by formula II, wherein R3 is 8-18C alkyl, alkenyl or alkylphenyl; GL is a residue derived from glycerine; and z is 2 to 4) in a weight ratio of 100 to 1-50.
