Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a construction by a method wherein a color powder is uniformly electrified and evenly formed in a thin layer form on a powder holding body using a recording unit, a solvent is directly flown to the color powder in accordance with an image signal by a recording means to form a tackified powder image, and only the tackified color powder is transferred to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A color powder 2 is evenly formed on a rotating powder holding body 1 in a thin layer form by a layer forming member 30, uniformly electrified by a friction with a layer forming means 3, and adhesively supplied on the powder holding body 1 by an image force in accordance with the charge amount of the powder. At the position of a recording means 5, a solvent is selectively jetted to be flown to the color powder 2 in accordance with an image signal. The application of the solvent causes the color powder 2 of the latent image part to be melted and tackified from the surface of the powder. At a transfer position, the powder is transferred to a recording medium 7, fed by a paper feed means 8, by a transfer means 6, thereafter being fixed to the recording medium 7 by a fixing means 9. In this manner, a device with a simple construction and superior maintainability and handleability can be obtained.
