第3図はこのような従来の溶接制御方法を示す概念図で
ある。すなわち、素材の薄板鋼板1をアンコイラしなが
ら一群の成形ロール2がら成るロールフォーミング部3
で次第に円筒状に成形していく。成形後のオーブンパイ
プ10aを加圧・接合するために配置された左右一対の
スクイズロール4の手前に高周波誘導コイル5を設け、
高周波誘導コイル5に電源装置6より所定の高周波電流
を通じてオーブンパイプ10aの合わせ目を加熱し、直
ちにその合わせ目をスクイズロール4で加圧・接合する
。スクイズロール4の直後には電縫鋼管10bの溶接シ
ーム部11の上方にビード幅方向にリニアアレイ温度計
7が配置されており、溶接シーム部11の幅方向の温度
分布と加熱幅を非接触方式で測定するようになっている
。そして、測定された温度分布中のピーク温度あるいは
加熱幅を検出し、検出値を制御装置8に入力し、制御装
置8においてその検出値が、ピーク温度の目標値として
与えられた設定温度幅、例えば1100℃〜1200℃
、あるいは加熱幅の目標値として与えられた、合わせ目
付近の温度分布が所定の温度以上となる部分の幅、例え
ば管サイズ271゜3φ關のとき5關、といった所定の
目標値内に入るように電源装置6の電流をフィードバッ
ク制御している。これによりオープンパイプ10aの合
わせ目に加えられる溶接入熱量が制御される。溶接シー
ム部11はその後ビードカッター(図示せず)により除

度あるいは加熱幅を検出し、該ピーク温度あるいは加熱
幅の検出値が所定の目標値内に入るようにオープンパイ
プの合わせ目に加える溶接入熱量を制御する場合におい
て、さらに前記溶接部の断面のシーム形状をパラメータ
化した制御系を付加したもので、溶接部のシーム形状を
撮像し、得られた画像を処理して形状パラメータを求め
、該形状パラメータにより前記ピーク温度あるいは加熱
幅の目標値を補正計算し、この補正値を改めて設定値と

パラメータを求め、次に該形状パラメータによりピーク
温度あるいは加熱幅の目標値を補正計算してその補正値
を改めて設定値として前記溶接入熱量を制御することに
すれば、素材交換に伴い突合せ形状、アプセット量が微
妙に変化した場合であっても、その突合せ形状、アプセ
ットaに対応した適正な溶接入熱量となり、溶接部の品
質の確保が計れる。なお、形状パラメータとしては、例
えばビード下幅、中央部ビード高さ、最大ビード高さ、
ビード断面積等である。これらの1または2以上の形状
パラメータを用いてピーク温度あるいは加熱幅の目標値

幅の目標値を補正する制御系を設け、補正値を改めて設
定値として溶接入熱量を適正に制御するようにしたので
、突合せ形状及びアプセット量を考慮した電縫管の溶接
制御が可能になり、素材交換にあたっても溶接部品質を
高く維持でき、かつ生産性の向上に役立つという効果が
