【考案の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本考案は、土木工事、建設工事あるいは上下水
道工事等において有用である水膨脹性止水材に関
する。

(従来の技術) 従来、土木工事、建設工事あるいは上下水道工
事等、水と接触する機会の多い工事において、各
種機材を係止したり、締留めしたりするためにボ
ルト、ナツト等の各種係止部材等が広く使用さ
れ、それらの係止部材の周辺を通じて生じる漏水
等を防止するために、各種のガスケツト、パツキ
ンその他のシール材が多数使用されており、その
中で、特に漏水を防止するためにゴム製のシール
材が多用されている。これらのゴム製シール材
は、その弾力性を利用して止水の目的を果してい
るものであるが使用が長期間にわたつたり、ある
いは工事後にボルトのゆるみや外部からの振動等
により、封止部に隙間が生じて漏水を生じること
が多い。このために、シール材のゴムとして水膨
脹性のゴムを使用することが堤案されている。

決すべく鋭意研究の結果、コイン状の水膨脹性止

とによつて、上記の問題が十分に解決されること
を知見して本考案を完成した。

子材料、およびそれらの架橋化物、デンプンアク
リロニトリルグラフト重合体の加水分解物のソー
ダ塩、架橋化ポリスチレンのスルホン化物、ポリ
スチレンとジエンポリマーからなるブロツク重合
体の親水性化変性物等が挙げられる、これらの水
膨脹性高分子材料は数倍から数百倍の膨張度のも
のが市販されており、これらの膨張度あるいはゴ
ム材料中への添加量を調整することによつて種々

ゴムコンパウンドを装入し、その中に水膨脹性ゴ
ムコンパウンドを入れ、これを1体的に圧縮成形
するとともに加流架橋させることによつて容易に
得ることができる。この場合は、本考案の止水材
のすべての表面部分5が非水膨脹性のゴム材料で
被覆されているが、このような態様の水膨脹性止
水材も当然本考案の範囲に包含されるものであ
る。また同様な方法で、パイプ状の成形物を形成
し、これを所定の厚さに切断すれば、第1〜3図
に例示する如き本考案の水膨脹性止水材が得られ
る。更に、中央部の連通孔の壁面に相当する非水
膨脹性ゴム材料からなる環状体および/または止
水材の外縁部に相当する非水膨脹性からなる環状
体を形成しておき、これらの環状体を全型にセツ
トし、次いで水膨脹性ゴムコンパウンドを装入し
て同様に成形しても本考案の水膨脹性止水材(第
4〜5図)を容易に得ることができる。

ていてもその外縁部が弾力性に富んだ非水膨脹性
ゴム材料で包囲されているので、水膨脹性ゴム材
料が過剰に膨張してその強度を失うことがない。
また別の重要な特徴は、従来の水膨脹性止水材
は、その中央部に連通孔を有する場合には、全体
の膨張とともに連通孔の径自体も大となり、その
部分から漏水が生じるものであつたに対して、本
考案の水膨脹性止水材はその連通孔の壁面が弾力
性のある非水膨脹性ゴム材料から形成されている
ので、その弾力性によつて内径が膨張前よりも大
になることがなく、常にその連通孔に挿通されて
いる棒状体と密着し、漏水を生じないという特別
に効果がある。
