Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the welding workability of a backing strip by laser welding the defective part on the outside surface of a piping or the like while prohibiting the leakage of liquid by a gaseous pressure from the outside surface, and then mounting the backing strip thereon by fillet welding. CONSTITUTION:The backing strip to prevent the leakage of the liquid 6 in the pipe is fillet welded to the outside surface of the defective part 2 generated in the piping or the like (repair pipe) 1 by which the defective part is repaired. A pressure chamber 8 is, thereupon, mounted via a rubber seal 9 to the outside surface part of the defective part 2 of the piping 1. The defective part 2 is laser welded by a laser beam 16 while the leakage of the liquid is prevented by feeding a pressurized gas 11 from a gas inlet 10. The backing strip is thereafter mounted thereon by fillet welding. Thus, the man-hours for repair are decrease.

When liquid leaks from a defect such as a crack in a plant's piping or containers (hereinafter referred to as piping), a patch plate is welded to the defective part to temporarily prevent the leakage. The method of repairing the caul plate is the full-circumference caul plate method shown in Figure 2 (A) partial longitudinal sectional front view and (B) cross sectional view.
There is a partial patch plate method shown in FIG. 3 (A) longitudinal sectional view and (B) cross sectional view, and the procedure is to apply a full circumference patch plate 3 or a partial patch plate 3a to the leaking defect 2 in the repair pipe 1. Install and seal around it with fillet weld 4. Note that the entire circumference patch plate 3 is welded at the divided portions 5.

However, in such a method, if the liquid 6 in the pipe leaks through the defect 2 as an outlet, as shown in the partially enlarged view of FIG. ! This accumulated water 61 is heated by the welding heat during welding of the first layer of fillet welding 4 and turns into water vapor, which causes disturbances in the welding arc 7 and increases the internal pressure in the gap due to heating, causing it to melt during welding. A phenomenon of water blowing up occurs, which impedes arc sustainability and makes welding workability extremely poor.Eventually, the shine causes defects in the hot welded parts of the plates, making it impossible to maintain the integrity of the welded joint.

In the figure, a pressurized chamber 8 for preventing leakage by pressurizing gas is attached via a gas-tight rubber seal 9 to the outer surface of the repair tube 1 surrounding the outer surface of the defect 2 where the liquid 6 inside the tube is leaking. At the top of this pressurized chamber 8, a gas port 10 for taking pressurized gas 11 is provided, and a quartz glass plate 12 for introducing laser light 16 sent via a condensing optical system 15 is provided. It is fitted by a ring 13 and a holding flange 14.

When laser welding the defect 2 with the laser beam 16 using such a pressurized chamber 8, the pressurized gas 11 is
is supplied from the gas population 10, and by increasing the chamber internal pressure, the liquid 6 leaking through the defect 2 as an outlet is pushed back into the tube, and the laser beam 16 is emitted from the quartz glass plate 12 via the condensing optical system 15. The defect 2 is irradiated to form a leak-preventing weld 17. In this case, the pressurized gas 11 is preferably a welding shielding gas such as an inert gas that does not affect the quality and material properties of the repair pipe 1 by welding.

In this way, after forming a weld 17 by laser welding on the outer surface of the defect 2 to prevent the liquid 6 from reaching,
Figures 2 and 3 show full-circumference patch plate 3 constructed using the conventional method.
Alternatively, place the partial plate 3a on the outer surface of the repair pipe l and attach the circumference with the fillet l connection 4. At this time, since there is no leakage of the liquid 6, the arc connectivity during patch plate welding is improved, and the welding workability and the soundness of the welded part are improved.

Thus, according to the repair method of the present invention, the defect 2 of the repair pipe 1 can be fixed.
Since the liquid 6 leaking from the pipe is pushed back into the pipe by gas pressure and prevented by laser welding, the backing plates 3, 3a
There is no problem with welding, and welding workability is greatly improved, and since the patch plates 3 and 3a are attached after directly welding the defect 2, the strength after repair is improved and a perfect welded joint can be obtained. Therefore, the reduction in man-hours by adopting this method during on-site plant repair work is significant.

In short, according to the present invention, when repairing a defective part of piping by fillet welding a patch plate to the outer surface of the defective part to prevent liquid leakage in the pipe, liquid is released from the outer surface of the defective part of the piping by gas pressure. By laser welding the defective part while preventing leakage, and then attaching a caul plate on top of it by fillet welding, it is possible to prevent liquid from leaking from the defective part of the piping, and welding of the caul plate is possible. The present invention is industrially extremely useful because it provides a patch plate repair method that greatly improves workability, improves the strength after repair, provides a sound welded joint, and further reduces repair man-hours. It is something.
