Abstract

PURPOSE:To peel the sheet at any thickness from thin to thick by providing a spacer simply and movably against a claw part so that any one df claw system and frictional separation system can be selected in response to the sheet thickness. CONSTITUTION:When the cut paper is peeled one by one, the end of the sheet is caught by a claw part 2 by sliding a spacer 3 to a housing part 8 of a sheet cassette 1 to be housed. The sheet is thereby peeled by the rotation of a separating roll 5 and the work of the claw part 2. Next, when the thick paper such as a post card, an envelope or the like is peeled one by one, the spacer 3 is slided to the avoidance feeding line of the claw part 2 of the sheet cassette 1. The sheet is thereby peeled by the rotation of the separating roll 5 and the work of a frictional separating plate 4 of the sheet feeding surface of the sheet cassette 1.

As shown in FIG. 4, a sheet feeder, which is a paper feeding mechanism of a conventional printer, has a claw section 10 attached to a cassette section 9 in which paper is set, and when a paper separation roll 11 rotates in the direction b, the paper passes through the claws at both ends. The film is peeled off one by one by the action of the part 10.

In the conventional method described above, in which paper is separated sheet by sheet using the claws of the sheet feeder and the paper separation roll, the stability of paper separation is determined by the correlation between the thickness of the paper and the area of the claws in contact with the paper. is determined, so it has the disadvantage that it is not possible to widely separate postcards, envelopes, etc. from ordinary copy paper.

The paper cassette 1 is provided with a movable spacer 3 having a claw portion 2, and a friction separation plate 4 is provided on the paper feeding surface. The paper separation roll 5 receives power to rotate in the paper feeding direction. Furthermore, a plate 6 and a spring 7 are provided on the paper cassette 1 in order to press the paper against the separation roll 5.

Next, to explain the operation, when peeling cut paper (high-quality paper, copy paper, etc.) sheet by sheet, the spacer 3 is slid into the storage section 8 of the paper cassette 1 (in direction a) and stored. When the end portion catches the claw portion 2, the paper is peeled off by the rotation of the separation roll 5 and the action of the claw portion 2.
