Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the commodity value and to reduce the cost by a method wherein the surface and the rise surface of the side of an emblem made of resin to the back of which a double-coated adhesive tape is laminated are covered with a bright processing foil. CONSTITUTION:A bright processing foil 13 is placed on the surface of a vacuum molding tool 15 in the surface of which a recessed part 15a for molding an emblem is formed, and the foil 13 is adhered to the inner surface of the recessed part 15a through vacuum suction. The recessed part the surface of which is covered with the bright processing foil is filled with a resin solution, forming and emblem body, and cured to form an emblem body 16. Thus, the surface (a bottom surface in a mold) and the rise part of the side of the emblem body 16 are integrally covered with the bright processing foil 13. After a double- coated adhesive tape 12 is laminated to the whole surfaces of the processing foil 13 and the emblem body 16, a product is demolded, and a flaw is cut at each individual product. Thus, integral formation of the emblem body 16 and the bright processing foil 13 can be effected through one process, the cost is reduced, and the commodity value can be enhanced.

Conventionally, such emblems have been manufactured as follows. That is, using an injection molding machine equipped with a mold having a predetermined mold surface, an emblem having a desired shape in which letters and figures are connected is molded using the resin described above. Next, the surface of the resulting resin molded product is plated to form a plating layer with a desired metallic luster, and then a double-sided adhesive tape is attached to the back surface of the molded product.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, the above-described conventional emblem and its manufacturing method have the following problems. First of all, in the manufactured emblems, the opening of individual letters and figures requires joints to connect them to each other, so when attached to a body panel, the overall appearance is poor and the product quality is poor. That's true.

Furthermore, since the emblem body is manufactured by injection molding, the manufacturing cost of the mold used therein is high. Furthermore, the plating process usually consists of about 20 steps, each of which is performed manually, which inevitably increases the overall manufacturing cost. Furthermore, if the characters or graphics of the emblem are changed, the preparation period for manufacturing the necessary molds becomes longer, resulting in a lack of responsiveness.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, in the present invention, the surface and side rising surfaces of the resin emblem body to which the double-sided adhesive tape is attached to the back surface are made of brightly treated foil. A bright emblem is provided, which is characterized in that the bright emblem is integrally coated with a bright emblem, and the bright emblem is placed on the surface of a vacuum molding mold having a recess for forming the emblem on the surface, and then vacuum suction is performed. a step of bringing the brightly treated foil into close contact with the emblem molding recess; a step of filling the desired resin liquid into the recess formed in the brightly treated foil, and then curing the resin liquid; a brightly treated foil and a cured resin portion; After applying double-sided adhesive tape to the entire surface including the emblem, the entire surface shall be removed from the vacuum molding mold; Also, the emblem shall be separated into individual parts by kiss-cutting the parts other than the emblem-corresponding parts. Provided is a method for manufacturing a bright emblem characterized by the following.

The molding of the emblem body and the integration of the emblem body and the brightly treated foil can all be done in one step using a vacuum molding mold, so the mold can be used in a mold similar to that used in conventional injection molding. The production cost is lower than that of the previous model, and the preparation period required for mold production is also shortened, making it possible to significantly reduce the overall production cost.

This brightly treated foil 13 is made by depositing aluminum or sputtering nickel-chromium on one side of a polyester film 13a with a thickness of 25 to 50 μm to form a metal layer 13b with a thickness of about 200 μm. A thermal adhesive layer 13d having a thickness of about 200 to 300 μm and made of vinyl chloride resin or ionomer resin is sequentially laminated via an adhesive layer 13c of, for example, a hot-melt adhesive applied to the surface of the layer 13b. It has an integrated structure. Here, the thermal adhesive layer 13d and the emblem main body 11
The polyester film 13 side forms the surface of the emblem.

First, as shown in FIG. 4, a mold for vacuum forming is formed, in which a recess 15a for emblem molding is formed on the surface, and a suction hole 15b communicating with a vacuum suction device (not shown) is formed from the recess 15a. The sheet of brightly treated foil 13 described above is set on the mold 15 so that the polyester film 13a side thereof is in contact with the mold 15. Here, the recess 15a

(Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above explanation, in the bright emblem of the present invention, the front surface and side rising surfaces of the resin emblem main body to which the double-sided adhesive tape is attached to the back surface are integrally formed with brightly treated foil. The method for manufacturing the same includes placing a glitter-treated foil on the surface of a vacuum forming mold having a concave portion for forming an emblem on the surface, and then applying vacuum suction to remove the glitter. A step of bringing the treated foil into close contact with the emblem molding recess; A step of filling the desired resin liquid into the recess formed in the brightly treated foil and then curing the resin liquid: Covering the entire surface including the brightly treated foil and the cured resin portion After pasting the double-sided adhesive tape, it is characterized by comprising the steps of removing the entire product from the vacuum molding mold; and separating the emblems individually by kiss-cutting the parts other than the portion corresponding to the emblem. Therefore, compared to conventional injection molding, the mold manufacturing cost is lower and the preparation period required for mold manufacturing is shorter. Further, since manufacturing can proceed within the same process, the overall manufacturing cost can be significantly reduced in addition to the above-mentioned reduction in mold manufacturing costs.
