Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a non-reversed image to be transferred without forming a reversed image, by forming a non-reversed image comprising a sublimable dye on the face side of a base film having a specified thickness, superposing a receiving material on the back side of the base film, and heating the resultant assembly from at least one side thereof. CONSTITUTION:A non-reversed image 2 comprising a sublimable dye is formed on the face side of a base film 1 having a thickness of 1-20mum. Then, a receiving material 3 is superposed on the back side of the film 1, and the resultant assembly is heated from at least one side thereof, upon which the dye penetrates through the film 1, and a non-reversed image 4 can be formed on the receiving material 3 through transfer. That is, a non-reversed character or pattern 2 is drawn in a sublimable dye-containing ink on the face side of the film 1, then the receiving material 3, e.g. a woven fabric, is superposed on the back side of the film 1, and the resultant assembly is heated from at least one side thereof by a heating means 6 such as an iron, whereby a thermally transferred non-reversed image 4 is formed on the woven fabric. It is thus possible to transfer a non-reversed image, without forming a reversed image.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a thermal transfer method and a thermal transfer sheet, and more particularly to a thermal transfer method and a thermal transfer sheet that can perform normal image transfer.

[Prior art and its problems] Conventionally, an image is formed on the surface of paper or polyester with ink made of sublimable dye to create a thermal transfer sheet, and a transfer material such as polyester woven fabric is layered on the surface and heated. A sublimation transfer method for transferring an image onto a woven fabric is known. In this method, since the image on the thermal transfer sheet is transferred to the fabric as a reverse image, it is necessary to form the image on the thermal transfer sheet in advance as a reverse image.

The above method has no problems in industrial large-lot production, but for personal hobby sublimation transfer, for example, by drawing pictures or letters on the base film using a writing instrument containing ink containing sublimable dye, and printing on clothing. When transferring the image to a woven fabric such as woven fabric, it is extremely difficult to draw an accurate reverse image on the base film by writing.

[Means, Actions, and Effects for Solving the Problems 1] According to the present invention, a normal image 2 made of a sublimable dye is formed on the surface of a base film 1 of 1 to 20 μm, and a transfer material 3 is formed on the back surface. By overlapping or heating from one surface, the sublimable dye passes through the base film 1, and a normal image 4 can be transferred and formed on the transfer material 3.

In addition, in the present invention, a material suitable for the above method and having a thickness of 1 to 1
To provide a thermal transfer sheet characterized in that a normal image 2 made of a sublimable dye is formed on the surface of a 20 μm base film 1, and a cover film 5 is laminated thereon.

[Example] As shown in the first diagram, normal images of letters and pictures 2 are drawn on the surface of a film 1 using ink containing a sublimable dye. By overlaying a transfer material 3 such as a woven cloth on the back side and heating from at least one of the surfaces with a heating means 6 such as an iron,
A transferred normal image 4 is formed on the woven fabric.

At this time, it is preferable to adhere or fix the cover film 5 to the surface of the picture so that the dye forming the picture 2 does not go to the iron.

The ink used in the present invention is, for example, JP-A-61-15
As described in Japanese Patent Application No. 5480, a known ink in which a sublimable dye is dissolved or dispersed in water or an organic l8 agent can be used.
It may be a general writing instrument such as a brush, or it may be a mechanical means such as a printing machine or printer. In addition, ink dye 1

If the base film is too thick, it will be difficult for the sublimable dye forming the image to pass through the film, and if it is too thin, it will be difficult to form the picture, so the preferred thickness is 1~
It is about 20 μm. As the material of the film, a plastic film such as polyester or polypropylene is preferable, but a fibrous material such as paper may be used. In the case of fibrous material, if the texture is too coarse, the transferred image will smear, so it is best to use a material with a fine texture.

Further, the cover film 5 used in the preferred embodiment may be made of a material having a certain degree of heat resistance, such as paper,
It may be a plastic film or the like, and may also be one coated with a heat-resistant resin liquid to form a film. The thickness is not particularly limited as long as heat conduction is good.

The material to be transferred is preferably one that has dyeability, such as various plastic films and synthetic fiber woven paper, but even if it does not have dyeability like paper, image transfer is possible by adhesion of a dye.

The heating means 6 is an iron, a hot roll, a thermal printer, etc., and is heated to a temperature at which the sublimable dye sublimes, for example, 100°C.
Any material that can be heated above ℃ is sufficient.
