〓Prior art〓 This type of printing method is disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 52-41682, in which a film-like transfer piece on which a transfer pattern is printed is pressed onto a substrate by hydraulic pressure, and the transfer pattern is applied to this. It is something to be transcribed.

With this printing method, it is necessary to print a pattern only on a specific part of the printing material, or to change the type of pattern partially, and in such cases, it is necessary to transfer a part of the printing material. Masking is performed in front.

However, in the conventional masking method, paper or synthetic resin film is pasted with adhesive tape to the areas that are not to be printed, so the adhesive tape must be removed manually after transfer, making it difficult to process in large quantities. At the same time, there was a disadvantage that processing costs increased.

For this reason, recently, a swelling water-soluble film is used as the transfer piece, and a water-soluble masking film is formed in advance on the unnecessary portions of the printing material, and this masking film is used to print the printing material. The inventor proposed a printing method in which the transfer pattern is not printed on unnecessary areas and the transfer piece and the masking film are simultaneously dissolved after transfer, and this printing method is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application No. 58-249594. (Refer to Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 143961/1983) as disclosed in the specification.

〓Problems to be solved by the invention〓 However, since this printing method applies an aqueous solution paint to areas that do not require printing as a means of forming a masking film, it is easy to cause paint flow and application errors. Therefore, there is the problem that it is difficult to apply paint that matches the size and shape of the area that does not need printing, and there is also the problem that if the area that does not need printing is small, the work required to form a masking film is troublesome. Ta.

Thereafter, the water-soluble transfer piece 7 is brought into close contact with the printing material 4 by water pressure, and the masking film 9b and the portions 4a and 4d to be printed on the printing material 4 are thereby brought into close contact with the printing material 4.
The transfer pattern 6 is transferred to, and at the same time, the masking film 9b and the transfer piece 7 dissolve and disappear in water.

<Operation> In the method of the present invention, the masking layer 9 covers the portions 4a, 4d to be printed covered with the masking pieces 8.
At the same time, a masking layer 9 is formed on the parts 4b, 4c that do not require printing and are exposed to the outside, and by removing the masking piece 8, this masking layer 9 remains only on the parts 4b, 4c that do not require printing, This remaining masking layer forms a masking film 9b.
Therefore, the transfer pattern 6 is transferred to the printing target portions 4a, 4d of the printing material 4 and the masking film 9b, and the transfer pattern transferred onto the masking film 9b disappears together with the masking film 9b, and the printing material 4 is transferred to the masking film 9b.
Printing is performed only on the portions 4a and 4d scheduled for printing.

〓Example〓 The method of the present invention will be explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 shows a printing apparatus used in the method of the present invention, in which 1 is a water tank, 2 is water stored in the water tank, and 3 is a printing material holding mechanism that holds a printing material 4 and holds it underwater. 5 is a printing mechanism that prints a transfer pattern 6 on a long film made of a swellable water-soluble film, such as polyvinyl alcohol, to produce a transfer piece 7. The transfer piece 7 may be made by using a long film as in the embodiment, or may be made by cutting a long film for each printing material.

Further, the printing mechanism 5 is not necessary when the transfer pattern 6 is printed on the transfer piece 7 in advance, but in this case, a solvent is usually used to activate the transfer pattern 6 on the transfer piece 7. is applied or sprayed.

This masking process is performed as shown in FIG. 2A.
A masking piece 8 is placed on the area 4a to be printed on the printing material 4.
and applying a water-soluble masking agent to the entire surface of the printing material 4 while the masking piece 8 is placed thereon to form a masking layer 9, and after this step, as shown in FIG. The process includes the step of removing the piece 8 together with the masking layer 9a thereon and forming the masking film 9b remaining only on a predetermined portion, that is, the portion 4b not requiring printing.

Since a transfer pattern 6, such as a wood grain pattern, for example, is printed on the transfer piece 7, the transfer pattern 6 is transferred and printed on the printing material 4, but a masking film is not provided on the unnecessary printing portion 4b of the printing material 4. 9b, the transfer pattern 6 is transferred to the masking film 9b and the area to be printed 4a, as shown in FIG.

Since the transfer piece 7 is water-soluble, it dissolves and disappears during the transfer, and as the transfer piece 7 disappears, the masking film 9b comes into contact with water and is dissolved.

Therefore, since the transfer pattern 6 remains partially on the surface of the printing material recovered from the water as shown in FIG. 4, partial printing as shown in FIG. 5 becomes possible. The printing material 4 may be partially printed, and in that case, as shown in FIG. 6A, the printed portion 4c is set as an unnecessary portion.
A masking piece 8 is superimposed on the other printing area 4b, and a masking agent is applied thereon to form the masking layer 9, and the same process as above is carried out to form a masking layer as shown in FIG. 6B. It is sufficient to form a film 9b, then transfer the transfer pattern 6 to it, and then transfer the transfer pattern 6 to another portion 4b to be printed, as shown in FIG. 6C.

Composition Examples Hydroxypropyrolcellulose (L) 7g (manufactured by Nippon Soda Co., Ltd.) Polyethylene glycol #300 5ml (manufactured by Nippon Soda Co., Ltd.) Megafac F141 0.1ml (manufactured by Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Co., Ltd.) Methyl alcohol 100ml 〓Effects of the invention〓 In the method of the present invention, the areas to be printed 4a and 4d are covered with the masking pieces 8 in this way, and the water-soluble masking agent is applied to the entire surface of the printing material 4, so that the masking agent does not flow. It may damage the areas 4a, 4d that are scheduled to be printed or the areas 4b, 4 that do not require printing.
In addition to being effective in reliably preventing mistakes in applying the masking agent in step c, removing the masking piece 8 creates a masking film 9b on areas 4b and 4c that do not require printing.
Since it is possible to form the parts 4b, which do not require printing,
4c and the areas 4a, 4d to be printed can be clearly formed, and there is also the effect that the masking film 9b can be easily formed to match the areas 4b, 4c that do not require printing.
