However, in such conventionally structured catheter devices, since the catheter is made of a thin and soft material, the catheter itself is weak and difficult to insert into the nasal cavity, which has a large bend. Moreover, since the entire length of the catheter passes through the catheter, there are problems such as great discomfort. In addition, in view of this type of problem, conventional methods have been implemented in which a guide wire is inserted into the catheter and the catheter is inserted while strengthening the waist. It is necessary to insert the device over a period of time, which not only makes the operation cumbersome but also causes greater discomfort to the patient.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, numeral 1 in the figures is a catheter constituting the catheter device according to this invention. The catheter 1 has flexibility and is made of a thin, soft synthetic resin material, and a weight body 2 made of a plurality of metal balls coated with synthetic resin is attached to its distal end 1a. The outer diameter of the weight body 2 is formed to be larger than the outer diameter of the catheter 1, and a flexible auxiliary short tube 3 made of a soft synthetic resin material is used as a stopper to stop the weight of the catheter. It is slidably fitted on the proximal side of the body 2. That is, the short auxiliary tube 3 has an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the weight body 2 and larger than the outer diameter of the catheter 1, and the proximal rear end 3a has an enlarged diameter in the shape of a funnel. In addition, a plurality of striations 4 consisting of perforations or kerfs are formed on the circumferential surface of the catheter 1 over the entire length in the axial direction. It allows for division and removal. Further, reference numeral 11 in the figure is a liquid injection port opened on the peripheral surface of the distal end portion 1a of the catheter 1.

That is, when inserting the catheter device having the configuration according to the above-described invention into a patient,
Insert the catheter 1 into the nasal cavity while grasping the short auxiliary tube 3 fitted over the distal end 1a of the catheter 1 with one hand and pulling the catheter 1 forward with the other hand to make it tense. Next, when the short auxiliary tube 3 is inserted into the nasal cavity, the insertion of the short auxiliary tube 3 is stopped, and only the catheter 1 is slid inside the short auxiliary tube 3 using the weight of the weight body 2. Introduce it into the stomach or intestine by pushing it while
is removed by pulling it out of the nasal cavity and dividing it.

As explained above, in a catheter device in which a weight body is provided at the tip of a catheter made of a thin soft material, the outer diameter of the weight body is provided larger than the outer diameter of the catheter, and the inner diameter of the catheter is larger than the outer diameter of the catheter. The short auxiliary tube, which is larger than the outside diameter of the catheter and smaller than the outside diameter of the weight body, is slidably fitted on the proximal end side of the weight body of the catheter, so that it can be inserted into the short auxiliary tube when inserted into the nasal cavity. Therefore, the distal end side of the catheter can be strongly reinforced and insertion can be facilitated. In addition, once the auxiliary short tube has been inserted into the nasal cavity, only the catheter can be inserted while sliding inside the auxiliary short tube, eliminating the discomfort associated with conventional passage through the nasal cavity. Moreover, since the short auxiliary tube can be separated and removed after insertion, it does not get in the way during indwelling, and has excellent practical effects.
