Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of image expanding/contracting processing by executing operation for expanding/contracting an original image by the same vertical/horizontal ratio as that or the original one and operation for expanding/contracting the original image by a vertical/horizontal ratio different form that of the original one in the same mode. CONSTITUTION:When image data for executing edition processing is displayed on a CRT 2, commands effective for edition operation are displayed. A com mand 'deformation' for expanding/contracting an image is selected out of the displayed commands and the range of image data to be expanded/contracted is specified by a cursor. When the specification is completed, a guide line G is automatically displayed on a diagonal of a range specifying frame W. When the cursor is moved and a deformation specifying frame D1 is specified on a position other than the line G, the original image is expanded/contracted by the size changed from the vertical/horizontal ratio of the original image and a circle is displayed as an ellipse or the like. Thus, the operability of processing expanding/contracting an original image by a vertical/horizontal ratio different form that of the original image can be improved.
