Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a useless usage of fuel by a method wherein a sensor for detecting the presence or non-presence of a person is provided and a combustion control part is provided for forcedly setting a combustion part to low or stopping combustion in case that there is no output from this sensor. CONSTITUTION:A human body sensor 6 for sensing a presence or non-presence of a person is comprised of an infra-red ray sensor and this sensor is arranged at a front surface of a main body 7 of a heater. The sensor may be mounted at any position where a presence or non-presence of a human body may easily be carried out when the sensor is placed at a proper location within a room. In case that there is a certain output from a human body sensor 6, a combustion at the combustion part 1 is forcedly set to low or combustion stopping condition by a combustion control part 8 to change-over an amount of combustion in the combustion part 1, a high combustion, an intermediate combustion and a low combustion or in case that there is no output from the human body sensor 6 in response to outputs from the room temperature sensor part 3 and the room temperature setting part 4.

2. Description of the Related Art As shown in FIG. 3, a conventional hot air heater has a combustion section 1 and a blower 2 that blows out hot air using the heat generated in the combustion section 1, and a room temperature detection section. Based on the output from the combustion chamber 3 and the room temperature setting section 4, the control section 5 switches the combustion amount of the combustion section 1 between high, medium, and low.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention Since such a hot air heater switches the combustion amount based on the output from the room temperature detection section 3 and the room temperature setting section 4, it has the advantage of keeping the temperature of the room almost at the temperature set by the user. There is. However, as mentioned above, the combustion amount is always set based on the output from the room temperature detection section 3 and the room temperature setting section 4, so even when the user leaves the room for business and is not there for a while, the temperature of the room may be lower than the set temperature. There was a problem that if the fuel was too low, it would continue to burn and waste fuel.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a sensor that detects the presence or absence of a person, and if there is no output from this sensor, the combustion section is forcibly set to a weak setting or the combustion is stopped. This configuration includes a control section.

Effect of the present invention With the above-described configuration, when a person leaves the room, the combustion is automatically weakened or stopped, and when the person returns to the room, the combustion is restarted based on the output from the room temperature detection section and the room temperature setting section. The combustion amount will return to the combustion amount set. Therefore, there is no need to waste fuel by continuing to burn at high power when no one is around.

Numeral 6 is a human body detection sensor that detects the presence or absence of a person, and it may be installed anywhere as long as it is easy to detect the presence or absence of a human body, such as an infrared sensor that detects infrared rays emitted by a human body. 8 is the human body detection sensor 6 described above. If there is an output from the human body detection sensor 6, the combustion control section switches the combustion amount of the combustion section 1 to high, medium, or low based on the output from the room temperature detection section 3 and the room temperature setting section 4. If there is no output, combustion section 1
It is designed to forcibly reduce combustion to a weak state or stop combustion. That is, as shown in the flowchart of FIG. 2, this combustion control section confirms that the operation switch is ON in step 9, and then detects whether or not there is an output from the human body detection sensor 6, ie, the presence or absence of a person, in step 1O. If there is a person present, the normal control of strong, medium, and weak combustion as described above is performed in step 11, and if there is no person, weak combustion is forcibly performed in this embodiment in step 12.

Therefore, in this hot air heater, when a person is in the room, the fuel is controlled to high, medium, or low based on the output from the room temperature detection unit 3 and room temperature setting unit 4, and when the person leaves the room, the human body is detected. Sensor 6 detects this and automatically switches to weak combustion, reducing wasteful fuel consumption. When the person returns to the room, the human body detection sensor 6 detects this and returns to normal control based on the outputs from the room temperature detection section 3 and room temperature setting section 4.

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the description of the embodiments, according to the present invention, when a person is in the room, normal control is performed based on the outputs from the room temperature detection section and the room temperature setting section, and the temperature of the room is adjusted to the set temperature. However, when no one leaves the room, the combustion is forcibly reduced or stopped, so fuel is not wasted, making it an economical heater.
