When inserting and contacting the receptacle contact into the receptacle part, the tip of the tab part does not properly face the predetermined insertion site of the receptacle part and collides with a part of the receptacle part, and in some cases, the tip of the tab part It will end up on top of the top. As a result, poor electrical contact occurs.

The tab portion is pressed downward to suppress the tab portion. Therefore, the bent-up tab portion 14a is corrected so that it extends straight forward from the front end opening surface 18, in other words, it extends forward at a substantially right angle to the vertical front end opening surface 18. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, the corrected tab portion 14a is
The tongue piece 17a' and the leaf part 17a'' do not collide with the tip of the receptacle part 17a, that is, the leaf part 17a'', or ride on the upper surface of the leaf part 178'.
It is inserted normally between. In practice, the length of the suppression portion 31 that protrudes from the upper surface of the cavity 13 in the radial direction of the cavity is set to such an extent that the bend-up angle of the tab portion 14a can be corrected to approximately 7°. .

It is inserted between a#. Furthermore, by providing the suppressing portion 31, the free protrusion length of the tab portion 14a from the front end opening of the cavity 13 to the tip of the tab portion 14a becomes shorter than when the suppressing portion 31 is not provided. Therefore, the strength of the tab portion 14a against upward "prying" that occurs when the tab portion 14a is inserted into the receptacle portion 17a is improved. Naturally, the length of the forward protrusion of the restraining part 31 is determined so that the distal end of the restraining part 31 does not come into contact with the distal end of the receptacle part 17a when the housing 12.15 is completely fitted.

Even if the tab part is inserted into the receptacle part of the receptacle contact, since this is corrected by the suppressing part so that it extends straight, the tip of the tab part does not collide with the tip of the receptacle part. , the insertion contact is made normally without riding on the top surface. At the same time, such collisions are prevented,
Both the tab portion and the receptacle portion will not be deformed or damaged.

As is clear from the above description, the free protrusion length of the tab part from the front end opening of the cavity that holds the tab contact to the tip of the tab part is longer than the case without the suppressing part. Since the length is shortened, the strength of the tab part against upward "prying" that occurs when inserting the tab part into the receptacle part is improved, and the "prying"
