Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely prevent damage of a packing by reciprocating an initial pushing contacting part in a horizontal direction and returning a circular packing which declines and drops to a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:A reversely protruded initial contacting part 17 is fallen down while reciprocated in a horizontal direction shown as arrows (B), (C) and initial pushing of a packing 2 is carried out so as to externally fit it on the upper end 18 of a small cylindrical projecting part 8 while the packing 2 is elastically and slightly deformed to extended directions. When, while declining, a spontaneously dropped packing 2 mounts on the small cylindrical projecting part 8, it can be adjusted surely to normal horizontal state because the initial pushing contacting part 17 is slid and brought to have a contact to the projecting part 8 while reciprocated. After initial pushing is carried out, the packing is pushed to the depths 9a by a pushing pressor 29. Damages of the packing due to biting and invading are surely prevented.

C invention tries to solve ll! [Problem] In order to eliminate any accidents in which the waterproof gasket inside the connector comes off before the connector is finally assembled and used in an automobile, etc., - When fishing on a boat, the small cylindrical protrusion inside the connector,
The fitting tolerance with the annular packing is strictly controlled and set to a slightly negative value. Therefore, there is a problem in that the work of manually pushing the annular packing into the connector requires skill and efficiency is not improved. Additionally, due to the above-mentioned fitting tolerance, if an attempt is made to simply push the annular packing into the connector using an automated press machine, the annular packing will get caught between the punch of the press and the small cylindrical protrusion. However, due to the problem of damage, automation was deemed to be extremely difficult.

The present invention provides a method for assembling an annular packing by pushing it into a concave groove of a connector in which a small cylindrical protrusion of a predetermined height is provided inside and an annular concave groove in a plan view is formed between the protrusion and the outer circumferential wall. In this connector, the annular packing is set so that the fitting tolerance between the cough small cylinder protrusion and the annular packing is negative, and the annular packing is assembled in a tightly fitted state, and the annular packing is held so that the concave groove opens upward. Then, the annular packing is externally fitted onto the upper end of the small cylindrical protrusion by the initial pushing contact member that descends while reciprocating in the horizontal direction, and the upper surface of the annular packing and the small cylindrical protrusion are connected to each other. A method of assembling by performing initial pushing so that the height with respect to the upper end surface of the part is the same as above, and then pushing the annular pangin deep into the groove using a pressure press instead of the above-mentioned initial pushing contact member. It is.

[Function] By reciprocating the initial pushing contact member in the horizontal direction, the annular packing that has fallen at an angle can be restored to the horizontal state and easily fitted onto the upper end of the small cylinder protrusion. Since the upper surface of the annular packing and the upper end surface of the small cylindrical projection are substantially on the same plane, it is ensured that the packing will not get caught in the upper end surface of the small cylindrical projection and be damaged when the press press is pressed afterwards. It can be prevented.

[Embodiment] Hereinafter, a description will be given with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 9, reference numeral 1 denotes a connector, and a waterproof packing 2 is assembled in the inner part of the connector 1. This connector 1 is attached to the end of each electric wire 3 of a wire harness (a bundle of insulated wires), and the electric wire 3 is inserted into a tube 4 and connected to the end of the tube 4 or the base end 5 of the connector 1. It covers the taxi carrier 6.

As is clear from FIGS. 9 and 1, a small cylindrical protrusion 8 is provided inside the box-shaped portion 7 that is open to one side, and as shown in FIG. A groove 9 is formed. That is, the concave groove 9 is formed by the small cylinder protrusion 8 and the outer peripheral wall 31 of the box-shaped portion 7 . Two axial holes 10 and 10 are formed through the small cylindrical protrusion 8, and the terminal 11 connected to the conductor of the electric wire 3, the connecting female fitting 12, etc. are inserted into the hole 10, as shown in FIG. .10 are respectively inserted and fixed.

In FIGS. 9 and 10, reference numeral 13 denotes a plug having two conductor needles 14 and 14 inside, and the peripheral wall 15 of the plug 13 is inserted into the concave groove 9 of the connector l. When fitted, the tip of the peripheral wall 15 is pressed against the packing 2 to maintain a sealed state. Further, the conductor needle portion 14 of the plug 13 is inserted into and comes into contact with the connecting female fitting 12 in the small cylinder protrusion 8, and the connection is made in a conductive state.

Therefore, the present invention relates to a method of assembling the annular packing 2 by pushing it into the connector 1, which is widely used in wire harnesses for automobiles, etc.
The fitting tolerance between the small cylindrical protrusion 8 and the packing 2 is made negative so that they are assembled in a tight fitting state. by this,
- To completely prevent an accident in which the packing 2 suddenly comes off after being assembled.

The external dimensions of the small cylinder protrusion 8 and the inner dimensions of the hole in the packing 2 have a negative tolerance as mentioned above, and since the packing is left in the drop position, the packing 2 is slightly inclined as shown in FIG. Even if it gets caught on the upper end surface 16 of the protrusion 8 or is horizontal, it remains in the unfitted state.

Therefore, the initial pushing contact member 17, which has an inverted convex shape as shown in FIGS. Initial pushing is performed so that the small cylinder protrusion 8 is fitted onto the upper end 18 of the small cylinder protrusion 8 while being slightly deformed in the expansion direction.

As is clear from the plan view of FIG. 4, the sliding contact portion 17a of the initial push-in contact member 17 has a rectangular or plate-shaped cross section, and when the groove 9 and the packing 2 have a rectangular shape in plan view, The sliding contact portion 17a is arranged in a direction parallel to the short side, and the width M of the sliding contact portion 17a is set to be approximately equal to the short side size of the outer shape of the packing 2 in plan view. Therefore, the sliding contact portion 17a is in the lowest state when it is in sliding contact with the upper end surface 16 of the small cylinder protrusion 8, and does not descend any further.

Then, as shown in Part 3, when the packing 2 that has fallen naturally is slightly inclined and rides on the small cylinder protrusion 8, the initial push-in contact member 17 reciprocates and slides into contact as shown by arrows B and C. Therefore, the normal horizontal state can be reliably corrected, and the initial pushed-in state as shown in FIG. 5 can be obtained.

FIGS. 12 and 13 specifically show an example of an apparatus for the above-mentioned initial pushing process. That is, a cylinder mounting plate 21 is provided on the upper surface of the base 19 via a reciprocating guide mechanism 20 such as a linear guide bearing, and a fluid pressure cylinder 22 is attached vertically to the mounting plate 21, and the cylinder 22 is in an inverted shape. The initial pushing contact member 17 is fixed to the tip of the piston rod 23, and as the piston rod 23 moves up and down (arrow E,
