(Field of Industrial Application) This invention relates to a weft cutting device for a loom, and more specifically to an electrothermal weft cutting device used in a shuttleless loom or the like. (Prior Art) Generally, as a heat element used in this type of weft thread cutting device, a heat-resistant alloy mainly composed of nickel and chromium with a portion of aluminum added thereto has been used. (Problems to be solved by the invention) By the way, especially in water jet rooms that get wet with water, the heat element is required to have corrosion resistance, that is, oxidation and wear resistance, and chemical resistance.
The above-mentioned heat-resistant alloys do not have sufficient corrosion resistance, and as a result, their durability is extremely poor and the lifespan of the heat element is extremely short. There is. If the life of the heat element is short in this way, it will be necessary to replace it frequently, which is not desirable in terms of maintenance of the loom. (Means for solving the problem) This idea was proposed in view of the above facts, and it is a material that has excellent heat resistance, oxidation wear resistance, and chemical resistance, and is also extremely durable. , which constitutes the heat element of the weft cutting device. That is, as a material for the heat element 1 of the weft thread cutting device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it has electrical conductivity, high temperature stability, and chemical stability.
At least a portion of ceramics having materials such as oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance (cutting part 1
0). It goes without saying that the holding part 11 that holds the cutting part 10 may be made of the above ceramics, or may be made of a flexible material. (Example) Heat element 1 of the weft cutting device of this invention
Examples of ceramics having the above properties used in
Examples include C-SiC- B4C , SiC - Si3N4 , and zirconium boride. The properties of these materials are compared with conventionally used materials Nichrome 6 and Kanthal A-1 in a table below.

It is the most suitable material for heat elements, and has significantly improved durability, making it preferable for the maintenance of looms.
