Claims (1)
側に作動室を形成したポンプカバーと、該作動室
内において上記ポンプカバーに連結固定されたポ
ンプインペラと、該ポンプインペラと対向状態で
配置され該ポンプインペラの回転に伴つて流体を
介して回転駆動されるタービンランナーと、該タ
ービンランナーに連結されたタービンシヤフトと
、トルク増大作用を行なうステータと、上記作動
室を上記ポンプカバー側に位置するロツクアツプ
解除室と上記タービンランナー側に位置するロツ
クアツプ締結室とに区画する如く上記タービンラ
ンナーと上記ポンプカバーとの間において上記タ
ービンシヤフトに対してその軸方向にスライド可
能に取付けられ該ロツクアツプ解除室とロツクア
ツプ締結室とにそれぞれ導入される流体の圧力差
によつて軸方向にスライドしてその一側に設けら
れたクラツチプレートを該ポンプカバーに接合あ
るいは離間せしめ得る如くしたロツクアツプピス
トンとを備えるとともに、該ロツクアツプピスト
ンの外周部と上記ポンプカバーとの間に上記ロツ
クアツプ締結室とロツクアツプ解除室とを相互に
連通させる連通路を設けたトルクコンバータであ
つて、上記ロツクアツプピストンの外周部の上記
連通路に臨む位置に、上記ロツクアツプ解除室の
流体圧とロツクアツプ締結室の流体の圧力差によ
つて作動し上記連通路の通路面積を、上記ロツク
アツプ締結室の流体圧が上記ロツクアツプ解除室
の流体圧よりも高い時には小さくし低い時には大
きくする通路面積可変機構を備えたことを特徴と
