Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a tubeless tire for bicycle by extending sleeve parts made from an air-tight material along both peripheral edges of the tire. CONSTITUTION:An inner liner 4 made from air-tight material is stuck to the inner face of a bicycle tire 1, wherein this liner 4 has sleeve parts 4a, 4b extending from both peripheral ends of tire 1. Under the condition that the parts 4a, 4b extend therefrom, the tire 1 is mounted on a rim 5. Next, air is supplied from an air supply valve mounted at the bottom 5a of the rim 5 in an air tight manner. Since the parts are pressurized without any gap in the bottom 5a due to the pressure of air when air is supplied, the space formed by the inner face of tire 1 and the bottom 5a is maintained under sealed condition, thereby the tire 1 can be set at the rim 5 under the state that tire 1 is filled with air.

(Prior Art) As a conventional bicycle tire, one in which a tube is installed inside the wheel is known. However, if this type of tire is damaged by a nail or the like while the tire is running, the air inside the tube will rapidly escape, which may lead to an accident. Furthermore, when repairing a puncture, the tube inside the tire must be removed each time, so there is a drawback that the repair takes time. Furthermore, in the bicycle manufacturing process, a considerable amount of effort is required to attach the tube. For this reason, there has been a desire for a bicycle tire that does not require a tube.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, tubeless tires are already commonly used in automobiles. In the case of this automobile, since the tire itself is hard and highly elastic, both side walls 13a and 13b of the groove portion 13 formed in the rim 12 are compressed even when no air is injected, as shown in FIG. Both peripheral edges of the tire 9 are hermetically pressed together, and the bottom surface 13C of the groove 13
The space formed by the tire 9 and the inner surface of the tire 9 can be sealed. Therefore, when air is injected from an air injection valve airtightly attached to the rim, the tire can be filled with air without air leakage.

However, if the above-mentioned structure of tubeless tires for automobiles were to be adopted as is for bicycles, bicycle tires would be more flexible than automobile tires, and their diameter would be larger, resulting in distortion of the tires themselves. Both peripheral edges cannot be hermetically pressed against both side walls of a groove formed in the rim, and as a result, air leaks from the distorted portion, making it impossible to fill the tire with air.

(Effects of the invention) In the present invention, by forming a shaft made of an airtight material to extend along the circumferential edge of a bicycle tire, when mounting the tire on a rim, the shaft of the tire is inserted into a groove. By placing it along the bottom of the shaped rim, it is possible to firmly press the shaft to the bottom of the rim when air is being injected. Therefore, since air does not leak from both peripheral edges of the tire, the tire can be filled with air even without a tube. As a result, even if the tire is damaged by a nail or other object while driving, the air inside the tire will not suddenly escape.
It has the excellent effect of not leading to major accidents. Furthermore, when repairing the bank, there is no need to remove the tube inside the tire one by one, so it has the excellent effect of making the repair easier. Furthermore, in the bicycle manufacturing process, the tube mounting process is omitted, which has the excellent effect of reducing manufacturing costs.
