Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly stick an abrasive material on a bulky nonwoven mat by spraying the abrasive material after spraying water on the nonwoven mat and spraying an water adhesive from thereon. CONSTITUTION:Water is sprayed first on a bulky nonwoven mat. After spraying an abrasive material on this bulky nonwoven mat, a water adhesive is sprayed from thereon. Due to water being sticked the abrasive material is caught on the surface and at the internal part of the bulky non-woven mat without passing through it, and held on the fiber via water.

However, in a liquid mixture of abrasive material and adhesive, the specific gravity of the abrasive material is large, and if left standing, the abrasive material will settle in the liquid, causing a problem that the distribution of the abrasive material will be uneven. there were. If the abrasive material is applied to the bulky mat with uneven distribution,
Naturally, the desired uniform polishing effect cannot be achieved and the commercial value as an abrasive material is lost, so in actual manufacturing, the liquid is constantly stirred during processes such as mixing and transferring the abrasive material and adhesive. This required the complicated work of continuing to do so.

[In other words, in the method for producing a non-woven abrasive material of the present invention, by spraying water onto the bulky non-woven mat, the gaps within the bulky non-woven mat are reduced, and the sprayed abrasive material is applied to the bulky non-woven mat. The abrasive material is retained on the surface and inside of the bulky non-woven mat without passing through it, and by spraying a water-based adhesive on top of this and drying it, the abrasive material is prevented from adhering to the bulky non-woven mat. It made it possible.

The bulky nonwoven mat used in the present invention is preferably one in which fiber webs made of polyester fibers, polyamide fibers, etc. are intertwined by needle punching or the like. The apparent density of the bulky non-woven mat is 0.01-0.053/cm
3 is desirable; if it is less than 0.018/c1m", it will be difficult to hold the abrasive material and only a nonwoven abrasive material with inferior strength will be obtained; if it exceeds 0.053/cII3, it will be bulky. The polishing properties are lost, the abrasive material adheres only to the surface layer, and the sustainability of the polishing power decreases.

Water is sprayed onto the bulky non-edge mat. Water adheres to the fibers of the bulky nonwoven mat, thereby narrowing the voids between the fibers. If water is not attached to the bulky non-edge mat, the voids are large, so the sprayed abrasive material will pass through it, but in the present invention, since water is attached, the bulky non-edge mat will not pass through. Trapped on the surface and inside the woven mat,
Retained on the fibers through water. At this time, if the water spray is kept near the surface of the bulky non-woven mat, the abrasive material will be held near the surface, and if the water spray is applied to the inside of the bulky non-woven mat, the abrasive material will be removed to the place where the water entered. The range of material attachment can be expanded. That is, by adjusting the spray range of water, it is possible to freely change the adhesion range of the abrasive material from the surface of the bulky mat to a desired position. The water jet mff1 is appropriately set depending on the density of the bulky nonwoven mat, the size and particle size of the abrasive material to be adhered, the adhesion range of the abrasive material, and the like.

Any abrasive material that is normally used for grinding stones can be used, but the particle size should be between 30 and 250.
It is desirable that it is μm. If the particle size of the abrasive material is less than 30 μm without grooves, even if water is sprayed onto the bulky non-woven mat, it will be difficult to retain the abrasive material on the bulky non-woven mat when the abrasive material is sprayed. Even if it does, the yield will be extremely low. Furthermore, if the particle size of the abrasive material exceeds 250 μm, fIg+4 will be able to adhere only to the surface, and the abrasive material will exceed the range of practical abrasive material.

The amount of the abrasive material deposited varies depending on the basis weight of the bulky non-woven mat, the amount of water sprayed, etc., but an amount of about 20 to 200 g/*2 is deposited. Note that, as a matter of course, the optimum particle size and adhesion amount of the abrasive material are selected depending on the purpose of polishing.

After the above-mentioned abrasive material is sprinkled on a bulky non-woven mat that has been sprayed with water, a water-based adhesive is sprayed on top of the abrasive material. Since the water-based adhesive has good compatibility with water, it easily adheres to positions where water has been previously sprayed, thereby making the adhesion between the abrasive material and the fibers more reliable. As the water-based adhesive used in the present invention, emulsions whose main components are resins such as polyacrylic acid esters, polyurethane, and epoxy, and water-based adhesives such as water-based polyester resins (ionomers) are suitable, but in particular, In order to achieve strong adhesion of the abrasive material, it is desirable to use an emulsion whose main component is a crosslinkable resin such as self-crosslinking polyacrylic ester. It is desirable that the amount of water-based adhesive adhered is in the range of I/3 to 6 times the amount of abrasive material in solid content after drying. If the amount of adhesion is less than this, the adhesion of the abrasive material will be insufficient Since this cannot be done, there is a risk that the abrasive material may fall off during use. On the other hand, if the Wffi is larger than this, the sharpening effect of the abrasive material will be reduced.

In the above manufacturing process, since the abrasive material and the water-based adhesive are provided separately, there is no need for a mixer to mix the two or a transfer device equipped with a means to prevent the abrasive material from settling. A nonwoven abrasive material in which the abrasive material was uniformly dispersed was easily obtained. Furthermore, in the obtained nonwoven fabric abrasive material, the abrasive material was firmly fixed and did not fall off during use.
